Wayne Goss New Luxury Cream Foundation

The New Wayne Goss Luxury Cream Foundation is here, and I promise you it was worth the wait.  The Luxury Cream Foundation is a full coverage foundation.  Although, Wayne’s formula is designed to smooth the skin, cover the skin and still look like skin., which is pretty amazing that a full coverage foundation doesn’t look like a full coverage foundation on the skin. Wayne also released a translucent powder, that he recommends you use with the foundation, to prevent it from creasing.  What makes the Luxury Cream Foundation stand out from other cream foundation is, it works on all skin types.  It even  works well on mature skin.  Furthermore, Wayne says go ahead and use it as a concealer!

Also, Wayne released a dual-sided puff, One side is velour-like, and is slightly more textured than side two. Side two has a smoother side, so you can choose which side of the puff you want to use,  depending on what product you’re applying, and the finish you want. Wayne prefers using the smoother side for foundation, and the more textured side for powder.

You can find the Wayne Goss Luxury Cream Foundation , the Puff, and the Weightless Translucent Powder, on the Beautylish Website.  The Cream Foundation (1 oz. / 28.3g) costs $38.  The Smooth & Set Poreless Beauty Puff costs $10.  I haven’t purchased the weightless setting powder yet, which costs $28.

The Luxury Cream Foundation comes packaged in a shiny black outer box, with silver writing.  Also, the outer box has a rectangular swatch with the number of the shade across the top of the box.  And  it is also found on the upper right hand corner of the front of the box.  Unfortunately, Wayne left out any symbol for recycling on the outer box. Therefore, I have to assume that the brand is not eco-friendly!  Inside, is the frosted plastic jar with black writing.  The screw on lid is a silver metallic that is plastic created to look like metal.  The cream foundation looks and feels like the texture of a cream foundation in a compact.  Although, this cream foundation comes in a plastic jar.  I would love to know how environmentally conscious Wayne is, and if so, if his packaging is made from recycled plastics, or can the jar be recycled after use.  Otherwise, the packaging is simple, clean-looking, and according to Wayne, is supposed to look elegant.

ingredients for Wayne Goss Luxury Cream Foundation

The formula is water-free.  Emollients are the ingredients that are high up on the ingredient list.  The emollients are mixed with a silicone and polyethylene.  This combination of ingredients help skin retain moisture.  Your skin should feel better hydrated when wearing this foundation.  The foundation gives  skin a smooth look,, and your skin will feel soft to the touch.  There is only one preservative in the formula, Glyceryl Caprylate, which is not only a preservative agent, it also has antimicrobial properties.

The formula is Vegan and Cruelty Free.  It is suitable for most skin types, from dry to normal to oily skin.  I have to admit, the formula was very hydrating on my very dry skin.

smooth side of the puff

Wayne’s answer to create “poreless” skin, this double-sided puff can be used to apply liquid and cream formulas as well as powders.

Velour side of the puff

Use the smooth side to glide foundation onto skin with a virtually seamless finish, or use the velour side to pat powder into skin without moving product underneath.

The foundation has a natural satin finish.  For this reason, if you want a more dewy finish,  Wayne recommends using a very emollient moisturiser underneath.   On the other hand, if you want a more matte finish to the foundation, then he suggest you use a matte primer, or matte moisturiser underneath. For a natural satin finish, use the foundation without a primer or moisturiser underneath.

Finally, so far, there are 12 shades in the collection.  The reason for this is The Wayne Goss Brand is self-funded.  This means that Wayne pays for everything including the packaging and the testing of the product. Wayne said he couldn’t afford to do more than twelve shades, but he says “hopefully, if it goes well, more shades will be added”.  Shade 1 is the Deepest shade, with cool undertones, 2 is Very Deep with neutral undertones, 3 is Deep with cool undertones.  4 is Deep with neutral undertones.  5 is medium Deep with cool undertones, 6 is Medium with neutral warm undertones, 6. The shade I chose, 7, is medium with neutral undertones.

8 is Light Medium with warm undertones.  9 is light-medium with neutral undertones.  10 is Light with cool undertones, 11 is very light with neutral undertones, and 12 is lightest with cool undertones.

To apply the shades, you can use the puff (which Wayne suggests), a sponge, which I use damp, or a foundation brush.
