Chanel Le Comete Collection Spring 2022

BlushFaceLipsMakeup

Le Comete is Chanel’s first limited edition collection release for 2022.  The collection inspiration comes Bijoux de Diamonds, Coco Chanel’s ,one and only, 1932 haute jewelry collection. Therefore, the firey, sparkling comets reminded Coco Chanel of the fiery, sparkling diamonds in her haute jewelry collection.  Hence, the Le Comete Collection, done this time with makeup!  Furthermore, the collection includes two Blush Comete Blushes, and 8 new, limited edition shades of Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick.  You can read about more of the Chanel Spring/Summer 2022 products, including the Le Comete Limited Edition Rouge Velvet Lipsticks here.

You can find  the Chanel Le Comete Collection on the Chanel Website.  I purchased  one of the blushes, Corail Etoile.  The Le Comete Blush (0.42 oz. / 12g) each costs 70$. The Rouge Velvet La Comete , comes in eight shades, I purchased 108 Terre D’Etoiles, and 158 Brun Solaire (0.12 oz. / 3.5g) each costs $42.

Briefly, these exclusive, limited edition lipsticks are infused with mother of pearl pigments to create their luminous look. Although the formula is matte, the lipstick is as moisturizing as a satiny lipstick.  The lipstick feels weightless on your lips.  The lipsticks have a velvety finish.  Furthermore, the lipstick lasts a long time, about 8 hours.  And, after 8 hours, I still have the lipstick stain.  My lips never felt dried out.  I am the first person to pass on matte lipsticks because they can dry out my lips in an instant. This Rouge Allure Velvet La Comete  is the opposite of the matte lipsticks I’ve come across.  I really love the formula.

The outer Rouge Allure Velvet La Comete box has gold on the two sides.  Also, Rouge Allure Velvet is gold.  All the writing on all the boxes is in white. The Ombre Premiere Laque has a cold strip around 3/4 of the bottom of the box

The limited edition Rouge Allure Velvet case is a limited edition Rouge Allure Click case.  And, the click, which is on top of the case, is embossed with an assymetrical, 5 pointed star ( Gabrielle Chanel’s good luck charm.)

The shades: Pechee Rose on the left, Brun Roussi on the Right.

Blush Comete Blush Eclat Douceur (Soft Glow Blush) in Corail Etoile

There are two blushes in this collection.  Actually, the Peche Cosmique Comete Blush is clearly not a blush at all.  It is a gorgeous highlighter for your cheekbones, or you could really use it as a powder all over your face, for a healthy glow.  It is not pigmented at all.  So, unless you want a no-makeup-makeup blush, alias a sheer highlighter, you should know what you are getting, so you are not disappointed..

However, the Corail Etoile is a true, gorgeous, pigmented blush!  It has a soft, silky, velvety texture. It feels soft to the touch. Since the formula is a powder, there is a bit of kickup!  It has rich, intense pigments which will give you good color payoff.

What makes this blush more  exciting is the packaging.  The signature black lacquer box has metallic gold sides.  The compact comes in the signature Chanel Dust Bag. Also, the brush comes in a separate, smaller dust bag.  Usually, I am not crazy about the brushes that come with the compacts.  However, this brush is really nice, good quality brush that does a great job picking up the product.  I consider the brush very travel worthy!

And, that is not even the cool part!  The blush compact case is signature for Chanel, made with shiny black plastic. It has a push button to open the case, and to close the case, simply push down on the lid until you hear it click.  Inside there is a full-sized mirror underneath the lid.  Take a second, and look into the mirror.  Do you see what I see?  I see the crossed double C logo.  but when I look at the blush, I see a star instead of the double Cs! Wow, how did they do that? If you pick up the blush and tilt it towards you, you see a double logo, the star, and the double crossed Cs!  I love the optical illusion with the star on the blush and the crossed double Cs in the reflection in the mirror.  It is supposed to evoke a fleeting glimpse of a shooting star!  I am not certain if this is an overspray that will go away the more   you use the blush, or is it meant to stay a star, double crossed C effect?

Finally, the Corail Etoile is a coral with pink undertones, and a satin powder finish.

The finish does have a delicate, not in your face, radiance, that is really beautiful, and so Chanel!  If you love Chanel, and you love collecting Chanel, this is a must have!  So is the Rouge Velvet Lipsticks, in the special click case with a star on top!  Also, you learned that makeup translates the cosmos into stars, or glitter! LOL!
