It’s all about the highlighter, the highlighter, the highlighter! In other words, Spring 2018’s main focus is all about the highlighters! Moreover, it is not what you do with the highlighter, it is what the highlighter does for you!!! First, Natasha Denona Diamond and Dust palette emphasizes multi-layering highlighters with blush. Then, Farsali Jelly Beam creates a jelly-like formula that goes on wet and dries down to a powder. Next, By Terry’s Glow Expert Duo Stick allows you to highlight, blush and contour with a stick that has dual shades on one side, and a brush on the other. In addition to these and other brands, Stila’s Spring 2018 collection includes 5 Stila Glitter And Glow Highlighters. In fact, these are a first for Stila, their first ever liquid highlighters! (click here for the Stila link) They sell for $30.

Don’t get the new Stila liquid highlighters confused with Stila’s Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadows. Most important, every thing you love about the Liquid Glitter and Glow Eye Shadows, all that glitter, is there. However, their formulas are different.

Stila Glitter and Glow Highlighters Formula

Most important, the base is what makes the formulas different. The Glitter and Glow Highlighter doesn’t have the Liquid Eye Shadow’s pigmented base. The reason is, you need to be able to enhance your complexion, adding sparkle to your face without laying down saturated pigments on the skin. Therefore, the highlighter starts out with a sheer, water-infused base. Next, a multi-colored mixture of pearls and visible flecks of glitter are added to the base. Another difference is the highlighter formula uses a wider variety of pearl and glitter sizes. On the other hand, a wider variety of sizes won’t work in the eye area.
Stila Glitter and Glow Highlighters Shades

Again, the Glitter and Glow Highlighters come in 5 gorgeous, holographic colors. First, Stila’s Kitten is a well-known fan favorite! It is a neutral, champagne color. Therefore, there is a kitten eye shadow, lip gloss, and so on. Yet, the Kitten Highlighter, still the champagne shade, also has gold and silver flecks of glitter in it.
I purchased the other four shades.

First, another neutral shade, Painted Lady, is a rose gold with golden flecks of glitter.

Next, if you are into the Unicorn trend, Queen is a lilac shade with pink and purple glitter.

Also, Monarch is an iridescent pink with green, pink and silver shimmer.

Last, Admiral is mint green with a blue and purple shift.
Stila Glitter and Glow Highlighters Application

Above all, the highlighters apply easily. Also, it dries down smoothly.

First, insert the applicator into the highlighter. Next, pull it out of the bottle. Each of the flat sides of the highlighter’s applicator will give the perfect amount of product for each cheek. So, using the flat side of the applicator, tap the highlighter on top of the cheekbones three times each. Then, using your finger, or a damp sponge, blend the highlighter using a tapping motion. Distribute the highlighter evenly. If you want a more intense look, repeat these steps.
Most important, it can be worn on bare skin, or over makeup. It works great alone to create a dazzling illuminating effect. Also, it can be worn as a topper. In fact, for a more magnified effect, layer it over other forms of highlighters, such as creams or powders.
Sum
I’m loving the dewy, prismatic glow effect I get from this highlighter. It is a multi-dimensional extremely sparkly look. It shines like diamonds in the sky!
Have you tried the Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadows? Did you love them? If you did, like I did, you will love these highlighters. I think Stila should continue to add products to the Glitter and Glow Collection! Maybe a prismatic, multi-dimensional lip-gloss? What do you think?
