If you have always wanted to try Smashbox award winning, high-quality products,and/or have yearned to wear the contouring/highlighting trend, only you didn’t want to look so made up, ie: Kim Kardashian, because you prefer a natural, more forgiving (not so perfect), wearable look for your everyday life, – THE SMASHBOX #SHAPE MATTERS PALETTE ($55.00) is your 3 in 1 palette – total perfection for you!

The packaging looks very professional. I love the brand name on the top, and the #hash tag #SHAPEMATTERS in bold capitals! Very cute, clever, and it looks as if it were a palette for the Pros.

The Palette includes a mirror, a double-ended brush (on one side is a slanted brow brush, and the other side is for eyeshadow application), 9 Smashbox award winning Photo Op Shadows, 2 Brow Tech powders, 1 Brow Tech wax, 1 Contour, 1 Bronzer, 1 Highlighter and 1 Glow powder.

The Palette also provides three interactive “get the look” cards, giving you tips on the “how to’s ” for Contouring, using shading and light on your face, brows and eyeshadows. The cards have a magical ink that, when you swipe the card on your i-phone, a special “how to” video will play on your phone.

Now if that isn’t like having your own makeup artist with you, then I don’t know how else to say, this is AMAZING technology, and so creative, from Smashbox to you! Just you, (and me!) It just blew me away! Soon someone will jump out of the card and put your makeup on for you!LOL Anywhooo, it’s a great palette for everybody, and for you beginners – you’ve got it made (in the #shade).

The shades are best for people with light skin tones, or medium skin tones. This time of year, without sun, (we call it grey days), most of use are pretty pale, no matter what our skin tone is. The palette is large considering that it houses 9 eyeshadows, 3 brow products and 4 contour/highlight bronze/glow products all under 1 “roof.” The product sizes are perfect for the palette and for you (and me). It really is great for travel because you don’t have to bring much else makeup wise. A mirror is included for your application enjoyment, and don’t forget that double-ended brush (which is just o.k.), good in an emergency, but you all have decent brushes, I’m sure. At least you should have a few? I hope?

The formula is smooth and buttery. The powder is mirco-milled. The shades all are long-lasting and pigmented. The micro-milling is what makes this formula so blendable….. but you may experience some powder kick-back when your brush picks up the pigment- the powder is that fine. The Contour shade is a cool tone. The bronzer has some orange in it, if you don’t want to wear it as a bronzer, it works well as an eye shadow. The creamy highlighter is subtle, Glow is more intense, a champagne shimmer. The Brow Tech Powders are soft shades that would work for everyone. The Brow Tech Wax holds the powder and brows in place. Nothing moves. And the Eye Shadows are soft, pigmented, longwearing and award-winning for their blendability. They run the eye shadow gambit in finishes – matte, satin and shimmer shades are all present and accounted for.

The sixteen shades that make this palette are some of Smashbox’s best selling shades. That accolade says it all, even better than I ever could. There are no new shades in the palette – just the most worn, best selling, and most popular shades the brand has to offer! I must add, that if you were to purchase all of these shades separately, you would spend $276. The same shades are in this palette and it ( the palette ) only costs $55. What an amazing savings of more than $200. You do the math. I’m just going to enjoy this extremely well put together palette that has it all – for brows, face, and eyes. All you might add is a little blush, lipstick and mascara!
You are Awesome!
