Remember the Natasha Denona Metropolis Eyeshadow Midi Palette? Natasha’s inspiration for her Metropolis Palette comes from Post Industrial New York City of the 1920′ – 1930’s. Moreover, this was the Art Deco Period. The art, architecture, and silent film “Metropolis” inspired the palette’s burnished oranges, muted bronze tones, yucky greens and golds, lots of golds! Also, the Metropolis Eyeshadow Palette has 28 shades. I loved the leather-like stitched teal blue case the midi-sized shades came in. Now, Natasha has launched a Holiday Exclusive, Limited Edition Version of the Midi Metropolis Eyeshadow Palette. Instead of 28 midi shade there are only five shades in the mini. However, the nice thing about the mini version is it comes with an eyeshadow brush. I can’t remember if any of my ND Palettes came with a shadow brush?
Why You Would Love ND’s Mini Palette
First, this gives you an opportunity to try out a Natasha Denona , since the Mini Palette is a lot less money. Then, if you just can’t live without the other 23 shades, you can always go ahead and buy a Metropolis Palette. Also, for someone who never tried any ND products, and I highly recommend that you should, the way to go is with one of the mini palettes in her collection. Although, since this Mini Metropolis Eyeshadow Palette Mini is a Holiday Exclusive Set, and it comes with a fabulous medium ND Blender Brush, it makes this soooo giftable!
You can find the Exclusive Holiday Metropolis Eyeshadow Mini Palette and Brush Set on the Natasha Denona Cosmetics Website. Also, the Metropolis Mini Palette and Brush Set (5x (0.028 0z. / 0.8g) costs $25.
Packaging
First, the Mini Palette and Brush Set come packaged in a festive gift box, which makes it perfect to gift for the holidays. The palette comes in a plastic case. The lid is clear so you can see all five eyeshadows. The lid is mechanized to lift up, and to be pushed back down. I love how beautiful the colors look, through the case, set in the Metropolis blue background .
Also, ND’s brand-new, medium blender brush features a synthetic fiber that gives you an extreme feather-soft feel – resembling the soft feel of squirrel hair.
Even more, the medium blender brush is designed for all eye shapes and sizes, it comes in the perfect on-the-go size , and it blends any matte or metallic eyeshadow.
The Formula
The formula , rich pressed pigment shadows, delivers maximum color payoff. Furthermore, the shadows are hydrating and smooth so that the texture is optimal. And, the long wear-time feels comfortable. Natasha Denona eyeshadows are of the highest quality. The mattes are creamy, and buttery. The pigments are strong and smooth. In fact, you’ll need only one swipe for optimal coverage. Also, there was no kickback, and no fallout with these cream to matte shades.
Paraben Free and Cruelty Free
The Shades
There are five shades in the Metropolis Mini Palette. Three of the shades already exist in the original Metropolis Midi Palette. So, you are getting two new shades in the palette. If you already own the Metropolis Midi, there is very little point to getting the mini version. Unless, you want to gift the palette, or travel with a smaller palette.
Blaze (Existing Shade)
First, Blaze, a champagne gold shade, has a high shine finish.
Rope (Existing Shade)
Second, Rope, a warm beige shade, has a matte finish.
Jubilee (Existing Shade)
Third, Jubilee, a vibrant teal shade, has a metallic finish.
Bole (New Shade)
Fourth, Bole, a cedar dark brown shade, has a matte finish.
Corrode (New Shade)
Fifth, Corrode, a rusty medium brown shade, has a matte finish.
To Apply
Apply the shadows with the included blending brush. For an intense color payoff, or a foiled finish, wet the brush and apply the shadow damp. Or, you can use your fingers to apply the shadows for more intense payoff.
