To begin with, its winter.  First of all, winter is when I dry up.  In other words, my dry skin gets drier.  My hair is more difficult to style.  And, above all, my lips are chronically chapped.  Moreover, there is nothing more uncomfortable than dry, chapped lips. First, my lips become so dry, they hurt.  Next, I am so conscious of feeling uncomfortable, I begin to lick my lips to make them moist.  This only results in my lips feeling worse.
