First of all, a little bit about Juvia’s Place. First, Juvia’s Place Cosmetics is a three years old company. Moreover, Chichi Eburu, the founder, was born in Nigeria, Africa. Now, Chichi Eburu, a wife and mother of two, lives in the United States. Therefore this Indie Brand, from the US, is known for their highly pigmented eye shadows. Eburu’s inspiration comes from the continent Africa. Above all, her inspiration comes from African Culture, Food, Spices, music, clothing, artwork, the environment, and African festivals. Hence, the inspiration for the new Afrique Collection comes from Africa. Therefore, the palette. lipstick and blushes are “authentic, colorful and vibrant”.
Juvia Afrique Eyeshadow Afrik Liquid Lipstick Packaging
The packaging is as colorful as the shades themselves. The eyeshadow’s box and compact are a bright orange. Furthermore, on the front cover of both the packaging box and the palette’s compact, an African woman dressed in colorful African garb.
Inside, on the underside of the cover, is an African design. Moreover, there are twelve vibrant, curated shades of greens, blues and deep reds. In addition, the 12 pans are extra large. And, they sit on a vibrant purple base, which really shows them off.

First, I’d like to say, once you’ve experienced Juvia’s eyeshadows, all other eyeshadows look boring by comparison. Juvia’s Place is well know for their eyeshadows. Most of all, because the shadows have so much bold pigment.
However, the shadow formulas are also exceptional. For instance, they blend easily. Also, they are super creamy and buttery. The shimmer shades, used wet or dry, are dreamy. Additionally, the shadows last a long time.
The Afrik Liquid Lipstick formula feels creamy on your lips. It didn’t dry out my lips. And, it lasted a long time.

The Afrique Palette has twelve bold, pigmented shades. Seven of the shades have a matte finish. Five of the shades have a shimmery finish.

Last But Not Least………..
Since Juvia’s first eye shadow palette, I’ve been a huge fan. First, I love them because they are bold. Next, I love the curated shades of each palette. Also, I love the inspiration. For example, the Saharan 11 Eyeshadow Palette represents the African Sahara desert. Moreover, the colorful Magic Palette, and the Juvia Festival Palette are vibrant and beautiful, like the African festivals themselves. Prior to the Afrique Palette, I recently fell madly in love with the Warrior Palette. In fact, there should be a Warrior 11 palette in our future. In addition, the formula for the eyeshadows is creamy, buttery, long-lasting and blends easily.
Most of all, I appreciate that Juvia has created these palettes and made them cost effective. For example, you get larger pans than other palettes, more product for a lot less money. And, the shadows are quality eye shadows. The new Afrique palette is a beauty, and I love the curated shades of greens, blues and deep reds. Furthermore, I am not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks because they dry out my lips. However, Afrik went on creamy, and left my lips feeling creamy. How about You? What do you like about Juvia’s Place?
