I’m always in the mood for a new foundation. For one thing, I like a medium coverage foundation. Also, I love a foundation that gives me a glowing finish. However Guerlain’s Essential Natural Glow Foundation gives you a natural, glowing finish. Furthermore, it has 16 Hour Wear-time. Even more, it has a Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF20. And, it feels like a second-skin. Yet, even though it has all that and more, I must admit the thing that drew me to it, was, the foundation, comes in a really unique, cool-looking bottle. Finally, the foundation comes in 30 shades, so there is one to match every skintone!

To start with, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an awesome foundation bottle. In fact, it looks more like a beautiful bottle of perfume. Maybe the reason is Guerlain is first and foremost a perfume brand. Therefore, Guerlain has been making beautiful, glass perfume bottles forever. As a result, the 1 oz. Guerlain’s Essential Natural Glow Foundation Bottle is fun and fancy! First of all, the bottle is glass. Second, the foundation bottle is made to lean to the right. Next, the shiny silver lid is a large chunky teardrop!
And, etched on top of the bottle’s lid is Guerlain’s logo.
Pull the lid up and off. Underneath, is a pump that dispenses the foundation.
One thing that is great about having a gorgeous “perfume” foundation bottle is it will look beautiful on your vanity. Another reason to love this bottle is the foundation would make an amazing gift for the beauty lover in your life! However, this is not an easy foundation bottle for when you are traveling. This is because it is an “awkward” shape. Plus, no glass bottle is great to travel with.
Guerlain Essential Natural Glow Foundation Formula
First of all, 97% of the Essential Natural Glow Foundation’s ingredients are natural in origin. As a result, the formula includes mineral pigments and marine and plant active ingredients. For example, Red Algae and Tara . Gum Extracts let your skin breathe. Also, both of these ingredients help wit your skin’s ability to defend itself against pollution. Furthermore,White Cocoa Bean extract combines with other ingredients to help maintain the natural balance of your skin. In addition, it supports your skin’s moisture barrier. Last, it thoroughly hydrated your skin. Finally, it balances your skin to improve your complexion over time.
Next, the remaining 3% helps to optimize, over time, the formula’s integrity. Also, the remaining 3% enhances the foundation’s sensory qualities.
Furthermore, the foundation has a luminous finish. And, the glow is supposed to last for 16 hours.
Another benefit this formula has is it maintains the skin’s microbiota with both a pre biotic and a pro biotic blend.
Moreover, the texture of the formula is lightweight. As a result, it lends itself to a natural glow. In addition, the formula feels comfortable so comfortable that you’ll swear it is your “second” skin. Also, the foundation is breathable. Additionally, the formula refines the look of pores and it smooths the look of fine lines.
Although, the one thing about the formula that I don’t care for is the scent. For me, the scent is really strong. I’m not in love with putting anything on my skin with a strong, perfume scent. For one thing, strong scents give me a headache. Who needs to look good when they are walking around with a headache?

The foundation is available in 30 shades, to match every skin tone. Therefore, there is a shade for everyone! Furthermore, the coverage is from light to medium. Although, the foundation is buildable. For example, one drop is for light coverage. Two to three drops will give you medium coverage. The shades start with 00W, which is Porcelain Warm. Next there is 01N Very Light, 01W Very Light Warm, and 01C Very Light Cool. Then, the Light shades begin with 02N Light, 02W Light Warm. and 02C Light Cool. Next are the Natural shades beginning with 03N Natural, 03W Natural Warm and 03C Natural Cool.
I am the next shade, 035N Beige. Then there is 035W Warm Beige, and 035 Cool Beige. After Beige, are the Medium shades; 04N Medium, 04W Medium Warm, and 04C Medium Cool. Next, are the Amber shades, 045 Amber, and 045W Amber Warm. Then, the Honey Shades are 05N Honey, and 05C Honey Cool. After Honey comes the Deep shades beginning with 055N Deep, 055C Deep Cool, and 055W Deep Warm. Finally, there are the Very Deep Shades, which are 06N Very Deep, 06C Very Deep Cool, and 06W Very Deep Warm.
How to Apply The Guerlain Essential Natural Glow Foundation?
Guerlain suggests you apply the foundation with their L’Essential Retractable Foundation Brush. However, the brush costs $50. Do I think it is necessary? Do you have other foundation brushes? I would use one of them. Personally, I didn’t purchase the Guerlain brush. I used a kabuki-type foundation brush with compact bristles. First, I applied the foundation directly onto the brush. I started with one drop. However, I have really dry skin, so what is normal for me is probably not normal for you. I ended up with about 4-5 drops in total.
First, dab the foundation onto your face at five points, your forehead, nose, chin, left cheek and right cheek. Starting at the center of your face, pat and blend the foundation outwards from the center of your face until the foundation looks even.
The Guerlain Essential Natural Glow Foundation Last But Not Least……
First of all, if you love a natural, glowy, dewy finish, this is the foundation for you. However, if you aren’t fond of a pretty heavily perfumed scent, or scents give you a headache, this isn’t the one for you. Either way, aside from the scent, the foundation has a lot of great features. First, the packaging looks like a sculpture. Or, a great-looking perfume bottle. Whatever it is, it would make a beautiful gift to the makeup lover in your life. Also, the foundation is very (16 hours) long-wearing. What I love most are the good for your skin (97% natural) marine and plant derived ingredients. And, the foundation, with an SPF 20, helps protect your skin from the sun. Finally, I like that your skin can breathe underneath the foundation.
