Too Faced Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy Eyeshadow Palette

Happy Fall!  Since it is the first day of Fall 2022, it’s time to celebrate with the New Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy Eyeshadow Palette!  I look forward, every year, to the Too Faced Autumnal Palette.  I love anything that even comes close to the scent or taste of Pumpkin Spice!  For me, that embodies Fall!  This year’s seasonal Pumpkin Pie inspired eyeshadow palette includes the standard amount, 18 warm fall shades, that have matte, shimmer, matte with glitter, and satin finishes.  There are some changes from past Pumpkin Palettes and this year’s palette.

You can find the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy Eyeshadow Palette at Ulta, Sephora, and on the Too Faced Website.  The Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Eyeshadow Palette 18X (0.031 0z./ 0.88g) costs $54.  So the price went from $49 to $54. the price went up $5!

The Packaging changed too!  The old packaging was a tin box. The new packaging is cardboard, with a magnetic closure.  One good thing about cardboard packaging is it is recyclable.  And that is a good thing!  Also, the cardboard palette is slender, not bulky, and easy to stack with other palettes.  Yet, what made the previous years special was the tin box!  Just sayin’. There is still a large mirror underneath the lid.  And, on the other side from the mirror are three rows that each have six shades. The shades are buried in a reflective gold background.  Also, the palette is supposed to have the scent of pumpkin pie.  Unfortunately, I didn’t smell anything, and I really sniffed it.  I love the scent of anything pumpkin spice, and I am really disappointed that this didn’t smell like anything!

The formula for the eight matte shades felt buttery, velvety, creamy texture, and the shades were easy to blend.  There was one satin shade.  They give one swipe color payoff.  Next, there are four metallic shades, and  four shimmery shades. These shades were hit or miss. Some of the shimmery shades were more topper shades, and the metallics were more  pigmented. See the shade descriptions.  Finally, there was one shade that had a satin finish.  And, one shade had a matte with glitter finish.  This shade was thin , patchy, hard to work with, and difficult to swatch.

Finally, if you are a Too Faced Spiced Pumpkin fan, you are going to purchase this palette.  Is it a must? No.  It doesn’t have the pumpkin pie scent that was promised.  Instead, it didn’t smell like anything but maybe cardboard.  Even more, I missed the tin box that the eyeshadows used to come in.  Cardboard is definitely more eco-friendly, and that is good, but the tin box is a keepsake item, that collectors would want.  The eyeshadow shades are warm, fall shades.  Some of the shades performed better than others, which you can see in the swatches.  And, let’s not forget the price has gone up, and the palette costs an extra $5!
