Summer is coming, and Dior has released two new summer 2022 eyeshadow palettes. Both palettes were inspired by the warm hues of the Riviera Sunsets. The palettes are the 479 Bayadere Palette and the 779 Riviera Palette. Also, both palettes share the Bayere Stripes, imprinted on the shadows. The definition for Bayadere Stripe is “a fabric with horizontal stripes of brilliant colors”. According to Dior Makeup Creator, Peter Phillips, the Bayadere Stripe symbolizes the Mediterranean art of living. Basically, the Mediterranean art of Living is about enjoying the simple things in life and finding the perfect balance of what works for you. While food plays an enormous role in defining Mediterranean Living, the matter in which is it eaten is also hugely important. Again, the region has its warm climate to thank for another cornerstone of its way of life – an emphasis on outdoor living. its rich cornucopia of flavours, colours, aesthetics and influence to craft the Mediterranean lifestyle.
You can find the Dior 479 Bayadere Palette, and the 779 Riviera Palette at Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and on the Dior Website. The Dior 479 Bayadere Palette (0.26 oz. / 7.4g) and the 779 Riviera Palette (0.26 oz./ 7.4g) each costs $65.
Both palettes come packaged in Navy Blue outer boxes with silver writing. 
The box displays the FSC Mix Label: These products are a mixture of FSC virgin fiber and/or recycled materials with Controlled virgin fiber. The recycling symbol in the top left corner indicates the amount of pre- and post-consumer recycled fiber. 
Also, both of the compacts are glossy, plastic in navy blue, with silver Dior writing, and a silver bar that you push to open the palette. 
To close the palette, simply push down on the lid until it clicks. Inside, there is a full sized mirror underneath the lid. On the other side of the palette are the 5 shades. The shades are embossed with the Bayadere Stripes. The center shade, a diamond shape, has DIOR embossed across the center. 
Also, there are two dual-ended applicators.
One applicator is a dual-ended applicator with a brush on either side. 
The other dual ended applicator has a sponge on either side. Also, there is a protective plastic piece over the shades.

The formula for both palettes is creamy. which means the colors won’t migrate into the crease. Also, the shades are comfortable to wear. Even more, the shades are richly pigmented, and are long-wearing. I had no kickback with any of the shades.

Top Left
Top Left, a peach gold shade, has a shimmer finish. Wear this shade all over your eyelids.
Top Right
Top Right, a gold pearl shade, has a shimmer finish. Wear this gold pearl shimmer to highlight your brow bone and the inner corners of your eyes.
Center Diamond
Center Diamond, a copper shade, has a metallic finish. I love this metallic copper shade on the eyelids. You could wear it to line your lower lash lines.
Bottom Right
Bottom Right, a warm brown-bronze shade, has a velvety matte finish. This shade is perfect to add depth and definition to your eyes, as a liner, in the crease, and in the outer corners of your eyes.
Bottom Left
Bottom Left, a bronze shade, has a metallic finish. Wear this bronze shade on your eyelids, in your crease, or in the outer corners of your eyes. Also you can use it to line your upper and lower lash lines.
779 Riviera Palette
Top Right
Top Right, a white gold shade, has a metallic finish. Wear this shade as a highlighter, to highlight your brow bone, and inner corners of your eyes. Also, wear it all over the eye as a base shade.
Top Left
Top Left, a deeper peach shade, has a metallic finish. Wear this peach metallic shade on your eyelids.
Center Diamond
Center Diamond, a golden peach shade, has a metallic finish. Wear this golden peach metallic to highlight your eyes, all over your eyes, in the center of your eyes for a pop of color, on the inner corners of your eyes, and on your brow bones.
Bottom Right
Bottom Right, a chocolate brown shade, has a matte finish. War this shade to add depth and definition, line your eyes, wear it in your crease, and on the outer corners of your eyes.
Bottom Left
Bottom Right, a plum brown shade, has a matte finish. Wear this plum brown shade to add depth, in your crease, and outer corners, and to line and define your eyes.
Finally, I really love both of these palettes. The warmth of these shades are perfect for summer’s bronze looks. Also, both palettes are mostly shimmering shadows, and metallics which I prefer for my summer looks. Also, I like that both palettes lean towards peach shades, which is a refreshing change from all those rose and pink shade palettes, aren’t you sick of them? I am.
One last thought, I am happy that Dior is starting to become more eco-friendly. Starting with the outer box, which is so exciting! The planet needs the cosmetic industry to help preserve the planet, and I am thrilled that Dior is headed in that direction.
