Anastasia of Beverly Hills : Master Palette By Mario

Makeup

This is a hot palette. Everyone who has it loves it, so it’s been really hard to get. I have checked the local Ulta, Sephora, and Macy stores for many weeks after it’s launch in late September- no luck, no luck, no luck.  Finally, while I was in Sephora in November I got lucky.  They had one or two left!  Oh, happy day! And, Limited Edition, Anastasia of Beverly Hills Master Palette By Mario ($45) was worth the wait.

It is a collaboration between the extraordinary makeup of Anastasia of Beverly Hills and the exceptional artistry of Celebrity Makeup Artist Mario Dedivanovic of New York City.  His most famous client,Kim Kardashian, is also his favorite muse.   The ABH and Mario collaboration proved to be  a huge success.  Master Palette is  12 pans of neutral and jewel-tone shades in a range of finishes:  metallic, matte,  satin, and  velvet.

The packaging is frill-free black cardboard that creates the compact, a rectangular case with a mirror, and included is a dual ended eyeshadow brush. The brush happens to be fabulous, one end is a crease brush, the other end is the blending brush.  This brush isn’t the typical add on brush, so do not throw it out!  It really does make the application very easy.  The case is small enough to toss into your handbag, or suitcase.  I love that both Anastasia, and Mario put their logos on the front of the compact – in gold , no less, which makes the palette’s aesthetic looks expensive and appealing.

The shadows are superbly formulated-  beautifully pigmented bold colors- not a surprise considering Anastasia was the formula’s creator, and like all Anastasia shadows, they are rich, highly pigmented, soft, smooth and blend together and alone seamlessly.  All you need is one dab of the brush to pick up the pigment, and then tap your brush before applying it to your eye.  This way you will have no fallout!

The 12 Shades Are:

Hollywood- a metallic wheat gold with a satin finish

NYC – a rich chocolate brown with a satin finish

Kim – tan with a satin finish

Muse – rose gold with a satin finish

Marina – champagne with a metallic finish

Claudia – slate with a velvet finish

Lula – soft taupe with an ultra-matte finish

Isabel – burnt orange with an ultra matte finish

Violeta- dark chocolate with an ultra matte finish

5th Avenue – gold-leaf metallic finish

Bronx – metallic olive with a satin finish

Paris – a gilded brown with a satin finish

Since purchasing this palette, I love wearing it.  The sultry, warm hues are perfect for this time of year.  They wear for a long time, especially when I use an eye primer.  The collaboration between Anastasia and her luscious formulas, with Mario and his artistry in creating the palette hues was a perfect teaming of the minds.  I hope you have better luck than I did finding The Master Palette. So, if and when you see one, grab it!

  • Hi Les-been touting Anastasia products for a while. You can create your own palatte with the four colors you like best. I like the brand because they have nice matte colors in addition to shimmers. Mattes look best on aging eyes!! I use the palatte I made everyday, and the correction roll up foundation! I carry it in my bag for touch ups during the day.
