I had never heard of this until my girlfriend’s daughter had her first baby. My friend was going to find out the sex of her first grandchild, who was six months away from being born. She was going to what she called ” a reveal party”.
There are several ways to reveal the sex of a baby at a reveal party. First, some new parents want to learn the news with their guests, or family, or with their older children. They have the doctor write the sex on a piece of paper, and then seal it in an envelope. Then the couple takes the sealed envelope to their bakery, or whomever they have helping them. One popular way of doing the reveal is in the inside of a cake. The parents (to be) cut the cake, the same way they cut their wedding cake.
Inside, the cake may be colored with food coloring, pink or blue.
The icing in the center of the cake may be colored pink or blue.
Different layers of the cake may be in pink or it may be………………………………………………….
Blue! Then the cake is iced , covered with a neutral icing.
Pink or Blue mm’s! Clever!

Another way to reveal the sex of the baby is with a closed box that has balloons inside. The box is opened by the family and the pink, or blue balloons fly out.
I couldn’t wait to experience my first Reveal! Tonight, I finally did! It all started last month, when the kids revealed to us that they were going to have a baby! This is the first baby for us in 25 years. We were over the moon!
Pinky and my Son are ready to reveal the sex of their baby to our family.
They knew what the answer was already! We all held our breath as the knife sliced into the middle of the cake.
Slowly, the cake split in half, and Pinky turned the plate for all of us to see!

I recommend the Reveal experience – because there was a lot of excitement that surrounded the event for everyone involved. Years ago, before people knew the sex of their babies, the excitement was at the time of the actual birth. Now, after 12 week, all of the genetic testing is done, and the parents usually want to know the sex of their child. This is a fun way for the new parents to celebrate and reveal the sex of their baby with everyone! It’s all good. The nuances of life should be acknowledged and celebrated! Happy moments we will all cherish!
