Tom Ford Limited Edition Red Body Heat Eyeshadow Quad

Eye ShadowsEyesMakeup

I thought I was purchasing, on Sephora’s Website, a new, Limited Edition, Tom Ford Palette.  The palette arrived, and it looked familiar.  Turns out, the Body Heat Eyeshadow Quad is on the Tom Ford Eye Color Quad page at Sephora two times.  And, it is the first shade, and the last shade, in the collection.  Only, the first Body Heat comes in the signature Tom Ford Eye Color Quad packaging, a mahogany case with gold accents, and a magnetic closure.  Then, the new Body Heat compact is red.  It has the same four shades, and two dual-ended applicators and a mirror, only, the case and the outer box is red.

You can find the Limited Edition Red Packaged Body Heat, or the original , part of the permanent TF Collection, mahogany packaged Body Heat, as Sephora. Each of the Body Heat Palettes ( 0.35 oz. / 9.9g) costs $89.

On a positive note, the new red. case is perfect for the holidays.  And, the shadows in the Tom Ford Body Heat Palette are reddish, coppery tones.  Also, these tones are perfect looks for the holidays.  Even more fun, I learned a new trick.  The trick, or secret code, is how you’ll know if the formula is the TF regular eyeshadow formula, or is it the TF wet and dry formula? The way to tell is this, if the shades are embossed with the TF logo on each shade, then you know that the palette has a wet and dry formula.  On the other hand, if the shades are plain, without anything on them, you will know that the formula is Tom Ford’s regular formula, that can not be used wet!

One thing I love about Tom Ford eyeshadows is the excellent formula.  It is a pressed powder-gel formula, which is the wet/dry formula.  The ultra-pigmented pressed powder formula builds easily.  The shadows are easy to apply.  They have a smooth, silky texture.  They are long-wearing.  And, they are multidimensional.  Of course, the shades become more intense and complex when used wet!

The Shades in Body Heat are wearable, red-toned shades. Even more, the shades will look good on all skin tones.

The Shades (L to R ) Row 1

First, on the left, a soft pink champagne shade has a metallic finish. This shade looks gorgeous on the inner corners of your eyes.

Top Row L to R: the outer shade is swatched wet, then dry, then dry, then wet

Second, on the right, a deep rusty rose shade, has a sparkling sheen finish. First, you can wear this rusty red shade on your eyelids.  And, you can wear this shade in your crease.  Also, wet an eyeliner brush, and line your eyes with this sparkling, metallic rusty red shade.

Third, a reddish taupe shade, has a soft metallic shimmering sheen. This reddish taupe metallic shimmer can be worn on your eyelids.  Also, wear this shade in your crease.

Fourth, a medium-dark brown shade, has a satin finish. I love this shade on the outer corners of your eyes.  Also, you can smoke it out.  Or, wet your brush and line your upper and lower lash lines with this shade.

Final Thoughts

I really don’t understand why Sephora would have the two Body Heat Palettes in the same collection.  Do you?  I really thought that this was a new limited edition eyeshadow quad.  And, in a way it is, at least the packaging is limited edition.  I like the red packaging for a change.  It looks very festive.  If you would give the Tom Ford Lover in your life a gift, then I definitely would go for the limited edition red packaging.

And, Body Heat, the shades, are gorgeous, the formula is gorgeous. And, the packaging is festive and fun.  On the other hand, if you love the palette for yourself, and you don’t already have Body Heat in your collection, then you pick red? or mahogany?
