Urban Decay Naked Wild West Palette

Eye ShadowsMakeup

Many of Urban Decay’s famous Naked Palettes aren’t really naked. By Naked, I mean neutral.  Therefore, when I think of a neutral palette I think of brown, cream, and nude shades. And, Urban Decay has already done that palette! So, How Naked it the new the Urban Decay Naked Wild West Palette?

By the time UD created the Naked Reloaded, Eyeshadow Palette , the neutral shades packed a big punch!  Now, neutrals were more colorful, and they came in matte, metallic, and micro-glitter finishes.  Next, Naked Heat, included neutrals with all the sunshine shades.  Then, came Naked UltraViolet . And, if you guessed a palette with purple and neutral eyeshadows in matte, shimmer, and glitter finishes, you’re right.  Although, don’t forget the holographic pearl transformer shade.

Over time, the Naked Palette has had a few redos. And,it has become very exciting. In fact, the Newest Naked Palette, Naked Wild West, was inspired by the California Desert, Endless Skies, and Joshua Trees.

You can find the New Naked Wild West Palette at Sephora, Nordstrom, and the Urban Decay Website.  Also, the Wild West Palette ( 12 X 0.95g / 12 X 0.03 oz.) costs $49.

The Urban Decay Naked Wild West Palette PackagingNAKED WILD WEST PALETTE OUTER BOX

First, the outer box has a colorful snakeskin design., with gold lettering.  Also, cute, inside the flap of the box are the words “MOST WANTED!”

Next, the outside of the case is outstanding.  First, the snakeskin design, on the outer lid of the case is colorful.  Even more exciting, the snakeskin has the texture of snakeskin, glistening on the cover.  Actually, the snakeskin is covered with a thick piece of plastic.  I’m thinking the plastic amplifies the whole snakeskin color and scales for that wow factor!

Opened, the palette has a full-sized mirror underneath the lid.  Opposite the lid are 12 eyeshadow pans.  Also, the shadows range from lightest to darkest. There are warm shades and cool shades.  UNderneath the shadows is a well, that holds a dual-ended application brush.

Usually, the brushes included in a palette are a waste of time.  However, this is a beautiful brush, with thick bristles. Also, the brush is long.  Therefore, it is easy to work with. One side of the brush is fluffy.  Therefore, you can apply the shadows all over the lid with the fluffy side.  On the opposite side the brush bristles are tighter, and it has more of an edge.  Therefore, you can use this side to line the eyes, and blend the corners of your eyes.

Last, the palette has a magnetic closure.  As a result, the strong magnet does a great job keeping the palette closed.

The Formula For The Naked Wild West Palette
The eyeshadows have three different finishes.  Eight shadows have a matte finish.  Two shadows have a shimmering finish. Also, two shadows have a metallic finish.

First, the rich pigmented shadows are specifically developed with the iconic, velvety, Urban Decay Naked formula.  As a result, the shades blend seamlessly, with very little fallout.  Even more, you can layer all of the shades to create a lot of different looks.  The formulas are easy to work with.  Additionally, the shadows are smudge-proof.

Next, to apply the shimmers, use your finger for more color payoff.  Also, you can use a wet brush, especially with the metallic shades, for a brilliant sheen.

Finally, use an eyeshadow primer for longer-lasting wear-time. Above all, the formula is cruelty free, and the shadows are vegan.

MY Final Thoughts ON The Urban Decay Naked Wild West Palette…..

I am so thrilled to have a palette that is not centered in on the rose shades. Even more, I love that UD introduced the teal  and turquoise shades amongst their neutrals.  I’m really loving  this palette, more than I thought I would. First, I love that the first six shades are the warm neutral shades.  Also, you can wear any one of them on their own, or you can wear them as base shades, and transition shades.  Even more, I love the second half of the palette, with deep, cool shades. These are the shades that create your depth, dimension and pops of color.  Excellent!  Love This Palette!
