The Lipstick comes packaged in the signature gold metallic outer box with black writing. The box can be recycled.
The outer box is made using a mixture of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials, and/or FSC controlled wood. While controlled wood is not from FSC certified forests, it mitigates the risk of the material originating from unacceptable sources. 
The lipstick case is black lacquer, with a gold metallic lid. The lipstick case, made from plastic, is rectangular, and at the top of the black section is the YSL logo in raised gold letters. Unfortunately, the lipstick case is not currently recycled by municipal recycling programs in the USA. However, YSL Encourages sorting used materials to foster good waste management habits for when US recycling rates increase. 
Pull the gold lid, which becomes the base of the lipstick tube. The lipstick is an oval slant, which makes application easier and more precise. Turn the bottom of the tube to raise and lower the lipstick.
The innovative formula includes Red Floral and Grape Oils that help your lips feel comfortable and moisturized for up to 10 hours. Also, the Oils create a creamy and moisturizing formula. The highly pigmented formula allows for great color payoff, with one swipe. Your lips will feel moisturized, and hydrated. The signature finish is more reflective than a classic satin but more subtle than a high shine lip gloss. The Bold is easy to apply, and effortlessly glides on the lips.
It has the signature fragrance you find with YSL Lipsticks. I had no feathering even though I had not worn a lip liner. The formula is longwearing. Lips feel soft and silky. Your lips will never feel dry! The formula is without parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclocarban, and triclosan.

I’m thrilled with The Bold Lipstick. The finish is beautiful, the look is bold and my lips never dried out my lips. 
The colors are gorgeous! I’ll definitely go back and choose more shades.
