I’ve been waiting for Wayne’s eyeshadow palette to launch! I already love his makeup brushes, and his lipsticks! And, guess what? It launched on the week of my birthday! First, is the Wayne Goss Imperial Topaz Eyeshadow Palette. Even more, there are three Essential Kohl Eye Pencils in the collection. Finally, the whole kit and kaboodle is perfect in every way.
You can only find Wayne’s Imperial Topaz Eyeshadow Palette at Beautylish. And, the palette ( 16.2 g / 0.57 oz. of product) costs $55. Also, the Essential Kohl Eye Pencils ( 1.14g / 0.04 oz.) cost $14 each.
Wayne Goss Inspiration For The Imperial Topaz Eyeshadow Palette and Essential Kohl Eye Pencils
To start with, Wayne’s focus group includes women in their 40s, 50s and 60s. One reason Wayne targets this group of women is because most makeup brands today targets younger women, and teenagers. How true that is!
If you look closely, very few makeup brands create sophisticated, elegant makeup. And the ones that do are the Tom Ford, Chanel, Chantecaille, brands, which cost an arm and a leg. Need I say more?
In other words, most brands, including the boutique brands, cater to the instagram and You Tuber’s pomp and pigments.
Another reason is, Wayne states that the right makeup that works for the forty and over decades, will look great on everybody! And, that includes all ages, and skintones!
Finally, Wayne created makeup that will “enhance, not cover up, the canvas.” In other words, Wayne wants “your natural beauty to shine through!”
The Packaging For The Imperial Topaz Eyeshadow Palette and The Essential Kohl Eye Pencils
First, Wayne’s signature outer packaging is a metallic silver box, with white writing.
Inside, the compact is a glossy metallic black shade, with a sheen to it. Be ready to wipe off your fingerprints. First, the compact has a nice size mirror on one side.
On the other side are the six, very large, eyeshadow pans. First, you can actually put your entire eyeshadow bush into the pan. Yes, they are that big! Even more, the pans are big enough to prevent you from creating that middle “well” that hits the pan first! This won’t happen with these pans. You can go around the outsides of these pans, since your brush fits in the pan!
Also, a quick word about the eye pencils. First, they are thin, and easy to work with.
So, you can tightline your eye easily. Also, you can get the point into the lash line. 
Also, the bottom of each pencil is a color coded. As a result, you won’t have to guess which color is the one you are looking for. Also, the pencils have a lid, so they are protected. And, you can throw them in your handbag, or makeup bag! 
One thing you will need, is a pencil sharpener.
The Formula For The Imperial Topaz Eyeshadow Palette and The Essential Kohl Pencils
First, the formula is more eyeshadow than a pan of pigment. Therefore, there is a softness to it. As a result, the shadows are very buildable. They are not too powdery. Also, they aren’t too creamy! Yep, they are in the Goldilocks Zone, because they are just right! As a result, these shadows will perform well for you.
So, I love the soft wash of color. For one thing, it makes the shadows more versatile, and more customizable. Let’s face it. It is not that easy to use a hyper-pigmented palette, even if the color payoff is exciting! Instead, it is better to build with these refined shadows.
Wayne calls it soft blend technology, which makes the shadows not just blend well, but they actually meld, and melt into each other. Maybe it is because the formula is infused with smooth-blend emollients!
Last of all, the Essential Kohl Pencils are classic kohl pencils with a twist. For one thing, they are softer than most pencils. So, you can use them as a base, all over your eyelids. Also, you can use the pencils to tightline you water lines. They are so creamy, they feel good on your eyes.
The Shades Of The Wayne Goss Imperial Topaz Eyeshadow Palette
There are six eyeshadow shades in the Imperial Topaz Palette. Three shades have a satin finish. Two shades have a matte finish. And the last shade has a Celestial, sparkling finish.
Light Sand (01)
First, (01) Light Sand, a light sand shade, has a satin finish. I love this shade as a base color. Also, you can use it on the inner corners of your eyes to highlight that area. Even more, use it to highlight your brow bones.
Fawn (02)
Next (02) Fawn, a light tan shade, has a satin finish. This shade looks beautiful all over the eyelids. Also, you can mix it on top of the matte brown shade.
Intense Black (03)
Then (03) Intense Black, the blackest black shade, has a matte finish. According to Wayne, Black is the most important shadow in this, or any eyeshadow palette. In fact, from here on in, Wayne is including a black shade in all future palettes.
First, black does more for your eye than any other color. It makes your eye stand out. In fact, when you push black shadow into your lash line, your eyes will stand out even without mascara! As a result, black won’t use up any of your lid space. Therefore, it maximizes your lid space for other colors you’ll want to use.
Next, black deepens and adds depth to any eye color.
Also important, Black smokes out any other shade.
Rust (04)
Furthermore, (04) Rust, an orange-copper shade, has a satin finish. First, I love Rust all over the eyelid. Also, wear this shade in your crease, and on your lower lash lines. Then, enhance your eyes with black on the outer corners of your eyes. Also, line your upper and lower lash lines with black.
Matte Brown (05)
Next, (05) Matte Brown a milk chocolate brown shade, has a matte finish. Matte Brown is another shade you can wear anywhere, crease, outer corners of your eyes, and lower lash lines. Again, enhance matte brown with black definition on your upper lash line, and outer corners.
Celestial (06)
Finally, (06) Celestial a sparkling shade, has a sheer glistening finish. Use this Celestial shade on top of any shade to create a sparkling effect. Also, use it on the inner corners of your eyes. Even more, using your finger, dab it on the center of your eyelids to make your eyes sparkle.
The Essential Kohl Eye Pencil Shades
First, Obsidian, a deep black shade, has a matte finish.
Next, Rich Hazel, a dark brown shade, has a matte finish. Finally, Precious Oal, a rich brown shade, has a satin finish.
My Final Thoughts on Wayne’s First Ever, Imperial Topaz Eyeshadow Palette, and the three Essential Kohl Eyeshadow Pencils……..
I’ve been following Wayne on You Tube for years. I want to believe I am his biggest fan. Although, I think every one of his followers are his biggest fans! Anyhow, I can say he is a makeup artist who really knows his stuff. Therefore, since he has tried all the other makeup on the planet, he knows what he wants in his products. And, he is impeccable when he creates something. What I love the most about Wayne is he sees the beauty in everyone. His mission is not to cover you up with a lot of pigments, but rather enhance what you have already. Amen!
So, his first palette has your everyday essential shades. These are your staple shades. And, his formulas are foolproof. So, all you need to do is blend them on, and you are done! You could use all the shade, or just one or two. Whatever you do, you can’t go wrong! This is your new everyday palette. Although, adding some of the black shade will dress up your eyes. And, to make them extra dressed up, add the celestial shade on the center of your eyelids, to make your eyes pop!!!
