TOM FORD CONTOURS + HIGHLIGHTS WITH ” SHADE AND ILLUMINATE LIPS”

Hello Week!

This limited edition SS17 Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Lips ($60) is what Tom Ford loves to do best…….Highlight and Contour! And now he has created duo lip shade palettes, one light shade and one dark, each specifically designed to flatter us all, so with these pairings, we can create the trendy ombre lip, or we can use each shade, on it’s own, as a lip shade.

An ombre lip is created with a dark shade on the lip’s edges, and a lighter, illuminating shade that goes in the center of the lips. This contours the lips, which creates a much fuller lip with a lot more volume. And this is all done with a dark, and a light shade. The dark color shade (contours) the lip, and the lighter color illuminates (highlights) the lip. The result is a beautiful, illuminated and dimensional ombre lip. This six palette collection extends across the color spectrum, going from nude, mauve. to pink, red and burgundy.

The lip color formula is a velvety and matte powder gelee. It illuminates and gives the lips a high impact finish. The pigments are rich. The formula is long-wearing. Emollient oils create a creamy texture, and a blend of polymers create rich color and deep dimension.

The colors are housed in is a hand-held, sleek, brown lacquer compact that has a gold strip open and close mechanism (which works well, so the palette won’t open unexpectedly in your handbag). It is great for travel, or to take with you in a small evening bag!

the two-sided applicator is a brush on one side and a sponge on the other — The two-sided applicator is a brush on one side and a sponge on the other. The brush is for applying, with precision, the darker shade that contours the lips, (which is along the outside perimeter of your lip line). You can make the corners dark, and brush the color toward the center of the lip. Do not put the dark shade in the center of the lips because the illuminating, lighter shade, goes on the center of the lips with the sponge side of the applicator.

There are many ways to use these shades. You can use them individually as lip colors. You can use them to contour your lip and highlight the lip in the middle, with the lighter color. I love the four shades I purchased, and have worn them so much, I love how creamy they feel on my lips, and the shades are gorgeous. I am tempted to buy the other two shades, which for me would be more neutral. Tom Ford never disappoints me! I think he is brilliant, and his makeup is sexy, decadent, and expensive! ( And I say that fondly because Tom Ford is a luxury brand), and I am always inspired with his innovative ideas, and I believe, where Tom Ford is concerned, you get what you pay for!!!!
