Don’t you hate it when you wait for a product to launch and you can’t get it because it sells out within minutes, even though you were at the computer at the exact time and the right date!?! Limited Edition Lust: Matte Trance Lipstick Collection , Pat McGrath Labs Summer 2017 launch sold out before I even finished logging in to the site. Following that, the collection immediately sold out on Sephora.com. Only a few stragglers were left. I purchased what I could. I have been desperately trying to get the whole collection. There are three configurations of the collection. The Everything Kit a ($342) value sells for ($275) and includes all 9 of the shades in the collection. Impossible to get at this point. There are three Trio Kits ($114) value, each trio sells for ($95) If you were to purchase all three kits, you would be purchasing all of the shades in the collection. Or, you can purchase each of the nine shades of lipstick individually for ($38). All I can say is Good Luck! The nude shades are definitely the most difficult to get.

The packaging is amazing. These bullets are high-end, (Chanel-Tom Ford) collectors tubes. They are weighty, and have three dimensional gold lips on the tube. The tube itself is black lacquered and it is piped in gold. It will look amazing sitting on my vanity, or yours! It looks like a sculptured piece of art.

All of Pat McGrath Lab products come in real laboratory bags. What keeps them from being too medicinal are the zillions of gold sequins that surround the products inside the bag. The only Trio I was able to purchase was Vicious Venoms.

The Vicious Venoms are the Deprived Darks. The shades are decadent, glamourous, and really Gothic.

McMenamy is a deep burgundy
Deep Void is a blackened blackberry purple
Antidote is a magenta violet

The formula of all of the lipsticks in the collection is the lipstick is enmeshed in a powdery film that is combined with richly saturated pigments to create a lightweight opaque coverage. The lipsticks feel weightless and are comfortable. As Pat McGrath says, it is the perfect texture, not “concrete” too dry and not “an oil slick” not overly hydrating and not slippery.
It is a matte lipstick with the feel of satin and the look of velvet-Pat McGrath.
The two other Trios are Colour Blitz- which are technicolor brights, and Skin-Show Nudes-modernized nudes with more color, depth, and more coverage. They have a velvety, non-drying matte finish.

I was lucky enough to find two singles, Obsessed, and Full Panic, were available, so I grabbed them.

These shades are technicolored brights.

Obsessed is a bright orange-red.

Full Panic is Fuchsia Pink

Full Panic ingredients.
All of the lipsticks I’ve tried from the collection are super saturated with rich pigments. However, Pat McGrath Labs was able to create a formula that even with the richest pigments, still won’t mask the natural texture of your lips. The colour is opaque, with a matte finish that feels like satin and looks like velvet.

They are long-lasting. For being matte, they sure do have a creamy formula. They glide on smoothly with one swipe, feel lightweight, and are buildable. If you want more intense color, they can be layered.

You Are Awesome!
