Even though minimal, effortless makeup is still trending for spring/summer 2017, it seems that makeup artists are beginning to rebel against “mainstream beauty.” The beauty trends are not just about natural makeup this spring/summer 2017! There are many bold trends that feature lots and lots of color. So, it is a season for the the lackadaisical, the fearless, daring, and the women who have the confidence to show all of their flaws .

The No Makeup Makeup Trend
I hope you all realize that this look can take just as long, if not longer, as when you apply heavy makeup for a night on the town! The totally bare (natural) beauty trend is the number 1 trend of all of the newest trends for 2017. This trend is here to stay. It is a full face of makeup, makeup that is undetectable! You need to apply your products with a very light hand, and then you must blend, blend, blend. Some of the makeup artists didn’t bother putting lipstick or blush on the models. This made the no-makeup-makeup look appear extremely nude!

Skip Powder
Skip the powder if you want to be a fashion statement. The biggest trend of Spring/Summer 2017 is dewy skin that is powder free. This is proof that bare skin is in, and it is a beautiful, easy , dewy look. Good bye matte skin!

Choose to Strobe rather than Contour
The third look, also in the photo above, is to chose strobing, over contouring. Dewy highlights that bring out your best features and create an “ethereal” look is in. Put glossy highlights on your forehead, the bridge of the nose, chin and a touch of sheen on your cheekbones. Concentrate shimmer on your cheekbones. This is a beautiful way to totally eliminate contour.
Soft, Warm Color
Instead of using cool or reddish shades to contour, choose a yellow based bronzer, or a neutral taupe. Yellow-based bronzers are beautiful for the summer months, especially if you pair it with a peach blush! A well-balanced neutral taupe shade is a more natural looking contour. This style of face sculpting is faster to apply, and it looks better in real life! Minimal makeup with a highlighter instead of contouring is the way to go this spring and summer.

80’s Makeup Touches

Touches of the 80’s can be seen in the more dramatic makeup trends for spring/summer 2017.
Bold eyeshadows from crease to almost past the eyebrows, into the temples and to the top of the cheekbones is another way to do it. Pinkish-red applied in semi circle from the outer corner of the lids to the top of the cheekbones, and lips painted a similar shade of red is how to do it.

Face Art

Face art done in a subtle, beautiful way can be really beautiful.

Bringing Nature To The Face

The artists stuck colorful dried flowers to the faces of their models, and used dried petals on their cheeks. Very festival don’t you think?

Colorful Graphic Eye Shadow
Bright colored shadows with graphic smudges were seen at Cividini, Versus Versace, and Pucci. I am not sure this is a real world look, although it trended throughout the fashion world.

Frosted Eye Shadows

It is more about texture than it is about color with the frosted eye shadow look. Is this the end of the matte eye? Is it time for shine, luxury and radiance? To finish the frosted eye shadow look for 2017, use a jewel toned eye liner, like sapphire blue, or garnet. Use a dark matte shade in the crease.
The Soft Pastel Eye.
This look is the trending Unicorn Look, as it was branded on instagram, went viral, and now all the makeup companies are creating “Unicorn” inspired, pastel products.
The soft pastel look was seen at the Jill Stuart, Marc Jacobs, and Anna Sui shows during fashion week. It has become popular from instagram, where it became a huge trend. It made a statement at fashion week, that it is here for the spring/summer 2017 seasons.
What trends do you think you’ll wear during spring/summer 2017? Are you brave enough to bare it all, and go nude (with your makeup)? Are you gutsy enough to try some of the more flamboyant trends? Let’s talk in the comments below!
