New Orleans Vacation Photos

Whatever

Hi everyone!  I promised you a look at my photos from New Orleans.  First, when I was little, my dad frequently traveled to New Orleans, and would bring me back a box of Pralines.  Ever since, I always thought that New Orleans was an exotic destination.  Next,, I read and loved the Anne Rice Vampire and Witch Novels.  Furthermore, both series took place in New Orleans.  As a result, these books reignited my curiosity, desire and fascination with this magical city.

Also, a few of my friends had children who went to college in New Orleans.  In fact, when my girlfriend’s daughter went to Tulane University, she insisted we take a girl’s trip.  First we would go to visit her daughter. Second, we would explore the city.  Unfortunately, at that time, hurricane Katrina hit the city. And we all know how much destruction and devastation resulted.  Finally my husband and I traveled to Louisiana, the last week of February 2018.

Here are some of the highlights from our trip!

Interestingly, Spanish Moss is prevalent on many trees.   First,  Spanish Moss is an herb that is related to the pinapple.  Therefore,it really is not a moss at all.  In fact, it doesn’t take any nutrients from the tree that it sits on.

Sum

This city is awesome!  First, go to New Orleans for the Food.  Next, Go for the French and Spanish history, and see how much both countries influenced this area. In addition, visit the National WW 11museum ( and plan to spend the day, it is amazing!)  Furthermore, we went on a walking ghost tour that also told the history of colorful people from the past who still haunt New Orleans to this very day!  Most important, Go for the Jazz, and visit Preservation Hall, a music venue that started in 1961 to preserve, protect, and perpetuate traditional, authentic Jazz.,played by veteran and younger musicians. And, of course, we shopped til we dropped ( I purchased voodoo dolls for everyone!)  The antiques are spectacular.  Also, the art from young NOLA artists are amazing!

Finally, as a makeup blogger, how could I resist this:
