I’ve been waiting to get my hands on the New Nars Light Reflecting Foundation. It is right up my ally, a makeup and skincare hybrid. According to Nars, the formula is actually more skincare (70% skincare) than it is makeup. Instantly, the Light Reflecting Foundation blurs and smooths your skin. Over time, the clarity of your skin will also improve. Finally, the foundation uses Photochromic Technology, that adjusts your skin’s tone according to the intensity of light. Therefore, you’ll look as good in pictures as you will in all other forms of lighting. It is like the Hourglass LIghting Edit, that makes you look good in all different lighting.
You can find the New Nars LIght Reflecting Foundation at Sephora, Ulta, Blue Mercury, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, and on the Nars Cosmetics Website. The Nars Light Reflecting Foundation Advanced Skincare Foundation ( 1 fl. oz. / 30mL ) costs $49.
The packaging is basic Nars. First, the foundation comes packaged in a matte black outer box, with white writing.
Next, the product comes in a glass bottle, with a large matte black lid, and black writing on the bottle. To open, pull the large black lid off.
There is an applicator pump, which I love, because you only need one or two pumps to apply the foundation.
Also important, the packaging is recyclable.

The Formula gives you medium coverage, which allows your own skin to shine through. However, the formula is buildable. The liquid foundation is long-wearing. The foundation’s texture allows it to melt into your skin. Therefore, it doesn’t sit on top of your skin. In this way, the finish, dewy when applied, has a natural skin finish. The foundation covers redness, and blemishes, and, at the same time, it still looks like your own skin.
Also, the formula includes ingredients, Biomimetic Oat: Visibly improves the clarity of your skin by reducing the appearance of redness. Also, Japanese Lilyturf supports a strong skin barrier by helping maintain moisture.
The formula is free of parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, sulfates SLS & SLES, triclocarban, triclosan, and contains less than one percent synthetic fragrance. It is also vegan.
The Nars Light Reflecting Foundation comes in 36 shades, from the fairest of the fair, to the deepest of the deep. Also, the shades come in all undertones, from warm, to cool, to medium, with peach tones, and goldtones.I have medium skin with neutral undertones.

I purchased the shade M1.5 Patagonia. It is a medium shade with neutral undertones, and it has a natural skin finish.

Lately, my dry skin has been even drier, because of the cold, indoor heat, and lack of sunshine. So, I have been using foundation cream compacts! Some formulas are drier than others.
But, there is nothing better than a new Light-reflecting foundation with 70% skincare ingredients built into the formula. I love the way this foundation looks and feels on my skin.
