Mary Kay : The Makeup (Part 2)

THREE- two-one    I can’t believe it’s almost here!!!!!!  Start singing Here Comes the Bride!!!!!!!

Yesterday I left you hanging.  To recap, Bobbie Jean and I had an adventure.  We attended a Mary Kay Event where we met the two fabulous Consultants, Kelly (who drives the Pink MKay Cadillac), and Victoria, who has a day job, and has been with the company for 22 years (and will soon be awarded with her own Pink Cadillac!).

Our Consultants taught us the importance of skincare, and we had a mini-facial lesson where we applied our own skincare from cleanser to serum, to day and night creams and, our eye cream.

We had two products remaining in our mirrored kits.  Face Primer and Foundation.  First, we applied the Foundation Primer, which contained an spf of 15.  Primer is an extremely important step, that goes on after your moisturizer and before your foundation.  It creates a smooth canvas for your makeup, and it holds in all of your skincare.  MKay’s primer also has the extra-added benefit of a sunscreen.  Remember, you can never have enough sunscreen on!  It’s that important!  After primer, we put on the foundation that Victoria had color-matched us with.  We used the foundation brush to blend it in.  The matte-wear foundation from the Timewise line was excellent.  It had no fragrance, it blended in well, and gave me great coverage. What I loved most about ‘timewise foundation’ was the ethereal glow it gave my skin.

Lash Intensity Mascara

It was time for Mascara.  Victoria told us about the exciting new Mascara that sold out 72 hours after it’s release- all over the world.  It is called Lash Intensity Mascara ($18).  It magnifies, maximizes and multiplies, creating 200% more lash volume , and your lashes standout like nothing else.

And After the lashes, we all got to try the new Lipsticks.  They are the Gel-Semi-Matte Lipsticks ($18)

These colors are like jewels.  Gorgeous!  I bought five of them!

I also purchased two lipliners, and the MKay lip primer.

Midnight Red – a dark brick red

Crushed Berry – a berry plum

Mauve Moment – a rosy pink

Poppy Please – a fire orange red

Powerful Pink – watermelon

These lipsticks are opaque, semi-matte-feel great going on, and they don’t dry out the lips.  I really love them!

Also New, Rock The Runway Eye Color Palette ($25) , is a must-have!

Mary Kay has been the official sponsor of “Project Runway,” and continues to be this fall, for season 15.  They provide the makeup and the makeup artists for the designers to use for their models, to achieve the looks they are portraying and sending down the runway.  I’ve watched the show for all 15 seasons, and the makeup is my favorite part, watching the artists transform the models from week to week to accentuate the looks that complete the designers runway presentations.  This year, Mary Kay made an eye shadow palette, called Rock The Runway ($25), for the show.

What I loved about the Mary Kay Event ……….is it was a great learning experience.  First, I learned so much about Mary Kay Cosmetics.  MKay isn’t what I thought it was, a brand for old ladies with blue hair, in fact,  it is far from it!  The formulas for both skincare and makeup are technology-driven, color-driven, science-driven and botanical-driven. And MKay Company is CRUELTY FREE!  The Consultants are experts,  knowledgeable about skincare, skincare products, makeup, and makeup application. They are so versed that they will even teach you how to apply false eyelashes – if you dare!  I have never met nicer, more energetic, and super enthusiastic,  accommodating women , and you all know how much I love my Sephora Girls!  I love that they are all for empowering women and helping them learn to take care of themselves and feel good about themselves.  They focus all of their attention on YOU, and that personal attention makes a huge difference!  And, it was fun to be with other women, talking about skincare and makeup.  What can be better than a bunch of women, in a room, socializing about makeup and life!  I must add that the products I purchased are amazing.  Even the packaging is excellent.  The gel lipsticks are packaged in a bullet, that looks similar and is the same quality, as Armani’s bullets. The formulas are luxurious. Well done.  I walked in to the event with a not so positive idea about Mary Kay, and I walked out excited about the brand. I really am really impressed with the whole Mary Kay package!  They help empower women, they teach women, they provide women with a livelihood, and the fact that they sponsor Project Runway proves that Mary Kay stays current and modern.  I’m impressed.

Thank You to Victoria and Kelly!  You guys are amazing!  Bobbie Jean and I can’t wait til the next event!

I hope the bride is cool, calm and collected?  I’m sure not!  Three days to go Bikini!  Can you believe it?

My advice?
