The New Kevyn Aucoin Contour Eyeshadow Palette, embodies the spirit of Kevyn Aucoin, the brand’s namesake. The palette, created by Pro Makeup Artists, is a tribute to Aucoin’s artistic approach , utilizing Kevyn’s legendary techniques for highlighting, contouring, and adding dimension to the eyes.. Aucoin was most famous for using Contour (to recede) and Light (to pronounce). There are four interchangeable Palettes in the collection, depending on your skintone. The colors range from Light, Medium, Medium-Deep, and Deep. Although, there are no rules that say you have to match your complexion, you choose any one of the 4 palettes, or all of them, to go more natural, or a deeper palette for a more striking look. All of the palette shades shape the eyes, and add dimension to the whole eye area.

The eco friendly compact uses 30% post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. Also, the compact, slim and stackable, has a small footprint. 
The compact is travel friendly. It is easy to open, simply lift the lid at the front of the palette where the indentation for lifting it up is. To close, simply push down until you hear it snap shut. 
Inside, underneath the lid is aq large mirror. On the other side of the palette are the six eyeshadow pans. The palette is magnetic, and refillable. Even more, the palette can be used interchangeably with the full Kevyn Aucoin Collection. 
On the back of the palette are six pin holes, where you pop the shadows out, and pop a refill in.
Each magnetic eyeshadow palette includes an innovative, highly pigmented wet/dry formula, gives you maximum color payoff. Also, the palette will take your look from day to night – use them solo or mix any palettes together, for a truly custom creation. The finely milled powders are talc-free, non-drying, and give you a smooth, crease-free application. The shades are buildable and blendable. The formula is long-lasting. Also, the formula is Gluten-free, Cruelty-free, Vegan, Paraben-free, Phthalates-free, Sulfate-free, Fragrance-free, and free of harmful additives.
Each Palette includes 3 matte shades that are designed to sculpt the eye. Also included is 1 flesh toned shimmer shade to highlight the brow bone and inner corners of your eyes. Then, there are 2 playful satin shimmer shades. The brand suggests that you get more than one palette, and switch colors, or take a shade out, and add a shade from another palette. Play with it, and create your own looks, either natural, every day looks, or dramatic night time looks. You can dampen your eyeshadow brush and use the shades wet.
I purchased the medium-deep palette, because I always like to go for a more striking look. I look too washed out with a totally neutral palette. If I were to go for a second palette, I would go with the medium palette.

Slip, a rosy-flesh color shade, has a matte finish.
Bashful, a light-medium bronze shade, has a matte finish.
Rosewood, a deeper brown shade with a golden undertone, has a matte finish.
Row 2 (Left to Right)
Splendor, a light yellow-gold shade, has a shimmer finish.
Rose Quartz, a light shade of pink, has a shimmer finish.
Noir Blitz, a deeper brown shade with a pink undertone, has a satin finish.
Don’t be intimidated with these palettes. You can apply the shades where you want to apply them. There are no rules with these palettes. The shadows are easy to apply , and easy to blend. Use them wet or dry. Experiment, and come up with a day look, and a night look. Have fun with it.
