Estee Lauder always said “Beauty is an Attitude.” Now Estee brings the beauty attitude to you with a new boutique line, ‘The Estee Edit‘, at Sephora. The edit was inspired by Estee Lauder, who joined with Sephora to create the Estee Edit. The Edit was curated by two current guest editors; the “fashion muse and social media sensation”, Kendall Jenner and “the influencer”, street style it girl, from Korea, Irene Kim. The Edit is broad, covering everything makeup, from highly pigmented colors to a collection of sheer washes of color. There are a few skincare products included in the collection. The products have catchy names, and contemporary, eye-catching packaging.

What attracted me to the line was the “Barest” collection, more specifically, the Barest Lip Color, and the complementary Barest Lip liner. (There is a Barest Blush and Barest Bronzer-for another day). The Barest Lip Color($22.00) is at Sephora. I am always searching for the “perfect” nude lip, (aren’t we all?) and The Barest Lip Color has six beautiful nude shades to choose from. They are Au Natural, In The Flesh, Exposed, So Bare, In the Buff, and Nude Scene. I chose In the Flesh because it had a pink tinge to the flesh- nude color.

The Barest Lipcolors are lipstick/lipbalm hybrids. The coverage is buildable, from very sheer to opaque. The formula is incredibly moisturizing, super creamy and buttery soft.

The Barest Contour Lip Liner ($20.00) is an automatic lip pencil. You need it. Use it to shape, enhance and contour your lips for that natural, full look that is HUGE now. The pencil also has a nice formula, a soft texture, and a fine micro-tip that is excellent for precise lip lining. It really helps to enhance the look of your lips. It doesn’t bleed or feather. And, it is perfect for shaping the ultimate nude pout.

Both in In The Flesh
The ingredients include Mura Mura Butter which helps hydrate the lips, and real flower petal waxes from Rose, jasmine, and Lavender create a formula that has a silky texture. They are fragrance free.

The Estee Edit attitude is ” Wear it, Share it , and Own it!”

I love that the products are complexion hybrids ( the makeup includes good for your skin ingredients)! I also love the feel – good formulas of the lipstick and the liner. And the packaging is sleek and modern. Feel-good formulas + good skincare ingredients + great color + modern packaging = Successful !

What do you think? I definitely think the Estee Edit is worth a try! And when you try it, please let us know what you really think! Do you like color, or do you prefer nudes? They have it all!

Here’s a tip! If you want to achieve that natural, full look : outline your lips with the Barest Contour Lip Liner( that is the same color as your lipstick), then blend the line inwards with a lip brush. Next, if you really want your lipstick to have staying power color inside of the lines with the pencil covering your lips. Then put your lipstick on over the lip liner.
