Dior Tri(O)Blique Pure Glow Pure Petals Palette

One of the stars of the Limited Edition Dior Spring Collection is the Dior Tri(O)Blique Pure Glow Pure Petals Palette.  Even more, the theme of Dior Spring 2021, also the name of the collection, is Pure Glow.  Therefore, the collection is more of a hint of makeup, with emphasis on the glow.  According to the Director of Dior Cosmetics, Peter Philips, Spring is an inspiring time of year.  As a result, he equates  Spring Reawakening to the Reawakening of a woman’s makeup.  For example, the Pure Glow Collection of makeup is like flowers blooming in the Spring.. Therefore, the Pure Glow Spring Collection is all about delicate touches of color, and radiance, to the eyes, lips and cheeks.

There are two 3 Couleurs Tri(O)Blique Pure Glow Collection.  I only purchased the Pure Petals Palette.  The other Palette, Triple Bloom is a cooler toned palette, that is a little bit deeper than the Pure Petals Palette. However, both palettes are really quite similar. In fact, they are too similar to each other to own both palettes.  So, pick your poison.

You can find the Dior Pure Glow Collection ($63) on the Dior Website, Selfridges and BonBon.  The Pure Petals Palette (0.11 0z./3.3g) costs $90.99.

The Packaging For The Dior Pure Glow Pure Petals Palette

To begin with, the outer packaging box is the signature shiny, dark blue box.  Then, the writing on the box is in silver. Next, the palette comes with a blue velvet dust bag.  Even more, the compact is the signature Dior compact, shiny dark blue plastic, with Silver writing. Additionally, the compact is a push the button, and lift up the lid, to open.  Then, to close, push down on the lid until you hear it click closed.

Inside, the compact has a mirror on one side.  On the other side is a row of three rectangular eyeshadow pans, one on top of the other.  The first pan, theoneontop, and the last pan, the one on the bottom, have floral motifs.  Therefore, flowers are embossed into the shadows for a beautiful Spring vibe.  Then, the center shade is embossed with name Christian Dior.

Finally two dual ended applicators come in the compact.  First, there is a dual-ended sponge applicators. One side has a fat rounded sponge to apply shadow to your eyelids.  On the other side, is a thinner sponge with a point. Use this sponge to line your eyes, and add definition to the inner, and outer corners of your eyes. Next, the other dual-ended applicator has a slanted brush on one side, and a regular eyeshadow brush on the other side.

The Dior Pure Glow Pure Petals Palette Formula

First of all, the three shadows are different from one another.  The reason for this is each shade comes in a different finish. For example, the top shade has a. delicate shimmer, in what I would describe as a satin finish.  Also, the top shade is sheer. Although, the shade is buildable. In fact, the more you layer it, the more pigmented it gets.  Additionally, the shade has tiny reflects throughout.  Therefore, it creates the finest most delicate shimmer.

Second, the middle shade, that says Christian Dior, is what I consider to be a topper shade.  It gives you a sparkling finish, as does a  topper shade.  Also, it hardly has a color to  it.  It is more about the sparkle, and adding sparkle to your look. Not a lot of pigment.  More reflects than anything else.

Last, the bottom shade has a matte finish.  I am thinking that this formula is more gel-like.  This is the deepest shade. Asa result, there is more pigments in this shade.  However, it is difficult to pull up the color.  The reason for this is the shadow is hard.  I don’t want to ruin the pretty floral design embossed in the shadow, so I don’t really want to dig it up.  As a result, the best I can do is layer, layer, and layer it.

None of these shades are like the shades in the Dior Quints. For instance, these shadows are difficult to work with.  They aren’t powdery.  Therefore, you don’t have to worry about powdery kickback or fallout. Also, they are not creamy.  In fact, they feel pretty dry.

The Shades of the Pure Glow Pure Petals Palette

First, the top shade, a vibrant coral, with reflects, has a satiny finish.  Wear this shade all over your eyelids, and into your crease.

Second, the middle shade, a buttercup yellow, has a sparkling finish.  Like I said above, this is a beautiful topper shade.  Although, you could wear it across your eyelids, if you want to sparkle.  Otherwise, use your finger, and apply it on top of either of the other shades.  Dab it in the center of your eyes to make your eyes pop.  Also, try wearing it on the inner part of your eye.  Last, wear it on your brow bone.  And, if you have any left on your finger, dab it on your upper cheek bone.

Last, the bottom shade, a warm, rich brown shade, with red undertones, has a matte finish. First, wear this deeper shade in your crease. Also, use it to line your lower lash lines.  And, use it to define the outer corners of your eyes.

My Final Thoughts On the Dior Pure Glow Pure Petals Palette…….

First, the Pure Petals Palette is really expensive for three eyeshadows that are not the buttery, easy shadows we are used to from Dior.  These three shadows are very sheer.  They are really hard in their pans.  As a result, the palette isn’t easy to work with.  And,it costs too much money not to be able to easily apply, layer, and blend the shadows.  However, Peter Philips created these palettes to give you more glow than color.

Another problem with the palette is, it is hard to find.  Besides Selfridges, and BonBon, I couldn’t find this palette.  I don’t think the USA is going to have it? I am not sure.  It is like the Chanel Spring Palette that you can only get in Asia.  So, you won’t be disappointed if you don’t get one!  The new Dior Quint for Spring looks gorgeous, and it will, if it isn’t already,be in the stores. What do you think?  Let me know in the comments section below.
