Complex Culture is the first Ipsy in-house brand. Ipsy is a monthly, makeup and beauty, subscription that provides Ipsy’s Subscribers a Glam Bag, with 5 cosmetic samples. Or you can pay more for the Glam Bag Plus subscription, that sends you five full-sized products. Also, there is Glam Bag X, that replaces your Glam Bag Plus four times a year, for even better, and more full-sized products! I subscribe to both the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, and four times a year, I receive a Glam Bag X! I’ve been an Ipsy member for 7 years!
Now Ipsy has their first in-house brand called Complex Culture. This new brand is everything we want our makeup to be right now. First, it is a Cruelty-free, Vegan brand that sources sustainable ingredients. In fact, everything the brand uses is sustainable. I hope that means their packaging too. The brand began with makeup brushes, then included hair brushes and brought in skincare, and makeup. The funny thing is, I received this full-sized Eyeshadow Palette in another one of my makeup box subscriptions, Boxy Charm!
The Future’s So Bright Palette is a gem-inspired color story.
You can find the Complex Culture Future’s So Bright Eyeshadow Palette on the Boxycharm Website, Mercari, and on the Complex Culture Website. The Future’s So Bright Eyeshadow Palette (0.5 oz. / 13.5g) costs $30.
The packaging appears to be eco-friendly. the outer box is recyclable.
Also, the case that holds the palette, in a nude beige shade, appears to be made from recycled plastics. To open the case, lift up the lid. to close the case, simply push the lid back down, and when you hear a click, you will know it is closed.
Inside, underneath the lid is a full-sized rectangular mirror. On the other side of the palette, are 12 eyeshadows in matte and shimmer shades, organized in three rows of three. There are three time-saving, curated, simple eye looks in the palette, although you can create an infinite amount of looks, from the 12 shades. The three looks are ( row 1) Dinner Party, (row 2) Cocktail Party, and (row 3) Surprise Party. Each look, is in in a column of complementary shades.

The formula for the 9 buildable colors, goes from sheer to highly pigmented, in a mix of matte and shimmer finishes. The mattes are creamy. And, the shimmers are easy to layer, and easy to build. The eyeshadows are Vegan, cruelty-free and dermatologist tested. All the ingredients, and everything else that goes into the making of the palette, is sustainably sourced.

This eyeshadow palette reminds me, and is right on up there with Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Palettes, the way a Luxury Palette is color coded and numbered, for application, which reminds me that this palette is curated with three-shade looks. And the luxury Palettes are a lot more money than the Complex Culture Palette, and the Charlotte Palette has 4 shades, with one look, and the Complex Culture palette has 9 shades, with three curated looks, and an infinite amount of looks you can create when you go outside the “box” and choose your own shades. Finally, the formula is truly beautiful, creamy mattes, and easy to use sparkling shades, gorgeous gem-inspired colors, and metallic finishes.
