There are aggressive, intimidating and controlling people in the world. If someone in your life wants to deprive you of your rights so they can control you and advantage of you – YOU HAVE THE POWER AND MORAL AUTHORITY to declare that it is you-not them- who is in charge of your life.

The Fundamental Human Rights are grounded in the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

As long as you do not harm others you have the right to stand up for yourself and defend your rights.

You have the right to be treated with respect.
You have the right to express your feelings, opinions and wants.
You have the right to set your own priorities.
You have the right to say NO without feeling guilty.
You have the right to get what you pay for.
You have the right to have opinions different from others.
You have the right to take care of and protect yourself from being threatened physically, mentally, or emotionally.
You have the right to create your own happy and healthy life.

A common characteristic of aggressive, intimidating, and controlling people is they like to deliberately upset you in order to push your buttons, and pull your strings to keep you off balance. By doing this, they create an advantage over you so they can exploit your weaknesses. They like to place attention on you to make you feel inadequate and uncomfortable. They are quick to point out what is not right with you or the way you do things.

Keep Your cool. Don’t react by being on the defensive, or you are falling into the trap of being scrutinized. The less reactive you are the more you can use your judgement to handle the situation. Take a deep breath and count to ten, regain your composure. Focus on your Fundamental Human Rights, and allow them to keep your cause just and strong.
And Remember that as long as you are reasonable and considerate, their difficult behavior says a lot more about them than you!
You Are Awesome!
