So, what exactly is the Dior Oblique Collection?   In its 52 years of existence, Dior‘s Oblique pattern (which takes it name from the collection created by Christian Dior for Fall/Winter 1950-1951) has established itself as one of the French house’s signatures. Created in 1967 by Marc Bohan, creative director from 1961 to 1989, it was not until Spring/Summer in 1969 that this print was revealed to the general public, appearing for the first time on one of the bags from the Haute Couture collection.  Today, the Oblique pattern continues to perpetuate its heritage .

The outer packaging box is the traditional Dior Deep Blue Shade, with Silver writing. The case comes packed in a deep Dior Blue Dust Bag.

The compact , a plastic case, is also deep Dior Blue, with Dior in silver written in the center of the lid of the. case.  To open the case, hold in the moveable button, in the center, near the bottom of the case.  To close, simply push down on the lid until you hear it click closed.

Inside, is a full-sized square mirror on the underside of the lid of the case.  On the other side of the lid are three rectangular shades, one on top of the other, on one side of the case. Each shadow is embossed with, starting on the top-Mineral, in the center Christian Dior, and on the bottom-Glow.  Also, only the top and bottom shade are embossed with the Dior Oblique pattern.

Also included inside, next to the three shades, vertically, are two dual ended applicators.  One applicator has a thin sponge on one side, and a thicker sponge on the other end.  The other dual-ended applicator has a brush on both ends, one is flat, and straight across, the other brush is angled.

The formula is ultra pigmented, and the shades are super concentrated. Also, the highly concentrated texture of the shadows gives them bold color impact.  A little product goes a long way, to receive optimal results. Finally, I’ve had these two palettes for a while, for the past few months, and honestly, I forgot about them.  I’m glad I rediscovered them, found them in my to do pile, and was able to get to know them better.

swatches Coral Glow left three, then Mineral Rose the middle to the right 3 shades

They are both beautiful palettes, one in corals, the other in pinks.  I didn’t experience any fallout.  The shades went on easily. For more color impact, I  actually applied two layers of the shade for the swatches.  My arms are a bit deeper than my face, so I don’t think I will need to layer so much, to build the color, when I apply the shades to my eyes.  One last thing, AI love both of these palettes for the right now, Spring, and later for the Summer.  They are goldilocks palettes, the shades are just right!  And, the palettes are to the point, and very easy to use.
