Skin Icing, a trend where women rub their face with ice cubes. Skin icing is gentle, there are no side effects, it is great to use on sensitive skin, especially the skin near the eyes (gentle rubbing around the eyes with ice is a safe, quick method to de-puff the eye area. The New Charlotte Tilbury Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum uses Cryotherapy,a therapeutic technique, using a “cooling device” that is applied to the eye area. The most basic form of skin icing is when you use an ice cube to reduce under-eye or facial puffiness. It has long been a staple of skincare wisdom (we’ve all used a refrigerated spoon or cucumber slices on our eyes in the past, right?). Far from being an old wives’ tale, there’s science behind this age-old advice. When actual ice is applied to the skin, it causes blood to rise to the surface (think of that rosy glow you get after a brisk winter walk), which soothes and tightens the skin.

When you unscrew and remove the lid, there is a metal applicator. One side is flat.
The flat side is where the hole is where the serum comes out, which it does when you press on the tube. Then, turn the flat side over to the ball side, and massage the serum into the eye area. Do this AM and PM., the first thing once you’ve cleansed but before you’ve applied your skincare.
You will feel the coldness of the metal, as the serum goes into your skin. As a result, you are using the two methods of application-the cold ( like that ice cube, spoon, or cucumber ) . It works to depuff your eyes, and it makes the skin smoother and tighter! Also, it works to help get rid of dark circles. Plus, you are going to feel like you are getting a facial at a spa. I really enjoy the two times a day when I get to relax with this “treatment.”
- Caffeine complex helps reduce the appearance of puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles
- Iceawake™ helps refresh tired-looking skin by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and adding radiance
- Swiss ice wine essence helps create an invisible tightening, blurring effect around the eye, lifting and firming the look of fine lines and wrinkles

I’ve been using this serum for a few weeks, and the skin around my eyes looks more radiant, and the puffiness, especially in the AM, looks better. And, the Swiss Ice Wine essence does have a blurring effect!
