New Year, New Color. Every Year the Pantone Institute Experts analyze color trends from entertainment, art, fashion, travels, and other lifestyle inspirations to arrive at a color that highlights global trends. Society continues to recognize color as a critical form of communication; as a way to express and develop ideas, emotions, engage and connect. For example, the Pantone Color of the Year for 2021 was actually two colors: Grey and Buttery Yellow. After a very distressing year (Covid lockdown started here in the USA in March 2020), Grey symbolized a quiet reassurance and resilience. And, the illuminating, cheery, butter yellow reflected sunshine and optimism, about a better tomorrow.
