The Chantecaille Polar Ice Eye Palette is an oldie but goodie. Originally released for Spring 2019, the sparkling Polar Ice Eye Palette is perfect for the 2021 holiday season! Chantecaille is a cosmetic brand that is very philanthropic. As an animal lover myself, I appreciate that the brand contributes proceeds of their profits to different animal, and environmental causes. ˆlove that Chantecaille is seriously trying to make a difference to help the animals and the environments in today’s world. The Polar Ice Eye Palette is The Chantecaille Brand’s recognition that the polar regions are the most sensitive to global warming. “Without ice, polar bears, arctic foxes, and many other species cannot survive, and without its reflective action to deflect heat, C02 emissions would skyrocket, gravely damage in our atmosphere. It is important to remember that the earth’s balance relies on icecaps. We need to do all we can to protect them”.
The Polar Ice Palette has includes 9 pigmented shades,and the shine of the shades, range from dramatic to demure. And the shades come in three distinct finishes. The finishes are holographic, metallic, and radiant. As a result, the nine shades will give you both high impact and every day options. The inspiration for the palette is the Arctic’s “otherworldly landscape, and the Arctic’s “galactic” night sky.

Packaging
The White outer box has an otherworldly picture of the arctic landscape on the front, back and sides. 
The case is white plastic. On the outer lid is a shimmering, rock crystal with reflects, that looks like ice crystals, that is reflected by light. Also, the glistening lid reminds me of the glimmering shimmer when sunshine hits frozen snow.
Also, to open the case, simply pull up from the front center where the lid meets the underside of the palette. The to close, just push down on the until you hear it click closed. 
Inside the palette, underneath the lid, is a nice-sized mirror. On the other side of the palette are nine eyeshadow pans. The shades are arranged in three horizontal rows of three shadows. Each row goes from high impact color on the left, everyday shades in the middle, and pale shades on the right side of the row. Also, the rows each have their own glow. The first horizontal row is the gold ice glow, the middle row is the Blue ice glow, and the bottom row is the mauve ice glow.
The Formula
The shadows, like all of the Chantecaille shadows, are high quality, ethereal shades. The formula is smooth, with a buttery texture. The finishes are holographic, radiant, and metallic. Holographic eyeshadows takes your eyes from dull to dazzling. Holographic, also known as galaxy makeup, eyeshadows are otherworldly, iridescent, prismatic hues. Unlike your regular matte or shimmery eye shadows, metallic eyeshadow, are more pigmented than your shimmer or matte shades. You get more high shine , metal-like finish. If you imagine the reflective look you’d see on an actual metal surface, well, it’s like that, but for your lids! Radiant Eyes add luster to your lids. The difference between shimmer and metallic eyeshadow is metallic shadows. Metallic finishes seem to have underlying gold or silver shimmer to give a more foiled effect.They look shiny and resemble actual metal like gold, silver, foil, copper and bronze. This works well on ebony or darker skin tones. Persons with mature skin or with fine lines and wrinkles should avoid metallic textures as it will settle into the lines. Shimmer eyeshadow contains small particles that reflect the light. It comes in virtually any color imaginable, in warm colors and cool colors. Shimmer eyeshadow offers sheer coverage with a subtle shine and a hint of sparkle. It’s definitely more glamorous, less natural. Shimmer shadows can be mixed with other textured eyeshadows for a “wow” look, especially great for an evening look when there is less light and wearing more eyeshadow is more appropriate. My Final Thoughts
This is such a gorgeous palette. I usually war one color eye looks, and accent with an eyeliner and a dark lip shade. It isn’t your one and done palette, that has transition shas, an definition shades. AIt doesn’t have shads to add dimension.
So, you need to use one of your other shadows with this palette if you are going for a more defining look. Then, you could wear a shade to highlight the inner corners of your eyes, and a shade or two to wear on your eyelids. Also, after you’d use a deep shade from another palette to line your eyes, you could go over that shade with one of these sparkling shades. 
Or, use some of the shades as shade toppers. Also, you will get more color payoff if you use a glitter adhesive. Stil, this is such a shiny, glittering, sparkling palette, that is perfect for New Years Eve, or a holiday party. For that reason, I decided to write about it now. Although it was a limited edition when it was released in 2019, the Chantecaille Website is where you can still find it. And, it is worth the money, the formula, and the shades are really special!
