I was dying to try the Melt Cosmetics Brand. So, I decided to start small. Melt Cosmetics embodies the freedom of expression. And, their shades are unusual, vibrant shades that you don’t ordinarily see ! I picked up two limited edition Gel Eyeliners, one matte and three ultra-matte lipsticks. The Gel Eyeliners are part of the Melt Amor y Mariposa Collection, which also includes an eyeshadow palette, and a blush palette. The two limited edition shades are gorgeous, so I had to try them. Also, I wanted to try their lipsticks. I opted for one matte shade, and three ultra-matte shades. Usually I am not so gung ho on any matte lipsticks since they dry out my lips, but the Melt lipsticks promised to be creamy!
The Packaging
Gel Liners
First, the Limited Edition Gel Liners come packaged in a gold metallic outer box. The box is gorgeous! It is one of those bow and go gifts, if you wanted to gift them. There is an embossed butterfly on the front, inside a lacie heart with rays that shoot out in all directions. 
Inside is the Melt Jar. The jar is a screw on, screw off lid in gold. Melt is embossed in the center of the lid. White butterflies decorate the edge of the lid. The jar is acrylic that you can see inside.
Last, according to the brand, down the road, the jar will keep your liner as fresh as it was on the day you opened it! That is really great. 
So, three months down the road, when you go to put on your gel liner, it will be as good as new.
Matte and Ultra Matte Lipsticks
The Lipsticks come boxed , and each one is the color of the shade inside. 
Also, written all over the box is the name of the shade.
The round, black lipstick tube is sleek, short and squat. 
It made me think that the actual lipstick would not be a full-size lipstick.
But, it is a full-size lipstick. It is just not in an elongated tube. It is a wider tube. I love that the tube has a strong magnetic closure. Inside, the lipsticks are embossed with a design that spells Melt Cosmetics.
The Formulas
There are two limited edition Gel Liner shades in the Amor Y Mariposa Collection. They are Colibri and Estrella.
Gel Liners
The formula for the limited edition gel liners is a waterproof, ultra-pigmented formula that is opaque, that is a long-wearing cream. Because it is a cream formula, it glides on your eyes easily. And once it dries down, it will last all day. Even more, once the formula dries down, it is smudge-proof. A little tiny bit of the cream goes a long, long way. 
The formula is free of Parabens, and is Cruelty Free, and Gluten Free. Finally, the formula is Vegan.
Matte and Ultra Matte Lipsticks
The matte and ultra-matte lipsticks are formulated with intense pigmentation, for full coverage, and great color payoff. 
The formula is creamy, and the lipstick glides easily across your lips. I find the matte and ultra-matte shades felt comfortable on my lips.
Listen, it is matte and uber matte, and I didn’t feel like my lips were dry. Of course, it didn’t feel hydrating, or cushiony, like a satin lipstick either. Even more, the lipstick was very long-wearing. I usually won’t even try a matte lipstick anymore because I hate the way my lips feel, dry! 
However, the shades were so beautiful, I wanted to give Melt Lipsticks a try! Not terrible at all. I could live with these lipsticks.
Shades
The Gel Liner Shades are Colibri and Estrella. Colibri means hummingbird in Spanish. Estrella means star in Spanish. Both liners can be used to line your eyes. In other word, you can create clear, graphic lines. Or, you can blend them out and wear them as eyeshadows.

Colibri was inspired by the glimmering feathers on hummingbirds. 
Also, Colibri, an emerald shade, with silver reflects, has a glistening matte finish.
Estrella
Estrella, a gold metal shade, has a metallic finish.
Estrella is intensely opaque, and it shines.
Matte Lipstick
Old Rose
Old Rose, a dusty rose shade, has a matte finish.
Ultra Matte Lipstick
Pink Heels
Pink Heels, a cool, vibrant medium strawberry sorbet pink shade, has an ultra-matte finish.
Last Kiss
Last Kiss, a deeper, cool, blue-pink shade, has an ultra-matte finish.
Lucretia
Lucretia, a deep, rich pink-mauve shade, has an ultra-matte finish.
My Final Thoughts
First, the two limited edition gel liners are GORGEOUS! The gold metallic would look great as a liner, or an eyeshadow. I love the metallic, shiny finish.
And, the emerald reflect is also gorgeous, and totally different from the gold metallic shade. I love the silver reflects in the emerald shade. More and more I am seeing matte shades with reflect, and as an eyeliner, I think that is pretty awesome.
Next, the matte and ultra-matte lipsticks, in shades of pink, are also beautiful shades of pink, and very different, for me!
Usually, I go orange-red, or red. 
So I am excited to wear these new shades for me. I’ve been wearing Pink Heels for a couple of hours now, and so far my lips feel fine. In other words, I didn’t run to the bathroom to wash it off, and glob lip treatments all over my lips.
That is a good sign!!
