One thing I can tell you about matte lipstick is it looks amazing on your lips. Another thing I can tell you is, it doesn’t feel amazing on your lips! First of all, matte lipsticks dry down, and dry out your lips. In fact, there is nothing worse when you want to look good, and know you are going to suffer! I’m sure you’ve been there with me! However, I really did find the best matte lipstick…The Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Collection. Moreover, Lisa Eldridge is a makeup artist in England and New Zealand. English/New Zealand makeup artist. Also, Lisa , a famous you-tuber, is known for her tutorials. Even more, she is Lancome’s Global Creative Director. The True Velvet Collection is her first foray into her own makeup . So, for her very first lipstick, she wanted three very different red shades, that would look, and feel like velvet.
You can only find the Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Collection on her website. Furthermore, the collection costs 75 British Pound Sterling, which is $97.98 US Dollars. Also, the collection comes with three very different shades of Red Velvet Lipstick, in a cherry velvet makeup pouch. However, if you prefer one lipstick, or two, each lipstick costs $33. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include shipping.
The Packaging For The Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Collection
First, the three lipsticks came in a cherry red velvet makeup pouch. I love that the pouch has a zipper.
Also, the embossed zipper has an engraved L and a mouth. This is Lisa Eldridge’s Signature Logo .
Furthermore,, the Logo , metallic gold stitching, is on one side of the pouch. It looks like the red velvet chairs you’d see in a theater. Even more, gold ropes hold the stage curtains together. In fact, these red velvets are what gave Lisa her inspiration for her True Velvet lipsticks.
The lipstick tube has a gold metallic finish. Moreover, the gold has a brushed-metal-effect. As a result, you won’t see your fingertips all over the tube!
Also important, the lipstick tubes have a magnetic closure. As a matter of fact, the magnet is so strong, that when I put the three tubes together, they pulled apart from one another. So, you never have to worry about your lipstick opening up in your handbag.
Above all, the lipstick bullet looks like real velvet! Except, that is, the top of the lipstick doesn’t have the velvet texture. And, this is precisely the part that touches your lips. 
Additionally, the bullet shape is precise. therefore, you can “precisely” draw the contours of your lips.
The Formula For The Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Collection
First of all, the outer part of the bullet looks like real velvet fabric. The reason is, Lisa created the effect with lipstick powder. And, Lisa is the first to do this. Furthermore, the lipstick is lightweight, Also, and this is a first, the matte lipstick is hydrating on the lips. Even more, the matte finish has a slight sheen. Moreover, the lipstick is easy to apply. It glides on smoothly. Above all, it feels comfortable on your lips. Not only does it feel comfortable, it makes your lips look smooth. Otherwise, the formula is conventional. In other words, there are no additional skincare ingredients. Above all, the lipstick applies with one swipe. So, I call it, one and done! Finally, the made in Italy lipstick is cruelty-free!
The Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Collection Shades
Each of the three red shades are very different.
Velvet Ribbon
To begin with, Velvet Ribbon , a vibrant, universal, classic neutral red shade with a hint of blue, has a matte finish with a velvety effect. Think of a present wrapped in a red bow.
Velvet Morning
Next, Velvet Morning is a hot, fiery bright orange-red shade, has a matte finish with a velvety effect. Think of a tropical sunrise on the horizon.
Velvet Jazz
Last, Velvet Jazz, a muted earthy brick red shade , has a matte finish with a velvety effect. Furthermore, Velvet Jazz was inspired by red lipsticks of the 1930s. Moreover, this muted earthy brick red shade has earthy tones. Therefore, it is the most neutral shade in the collection.
Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Collection …….Last But Not Least
Finally, this is the Best Matte Lipstick I have ever tried! For one thing, it gradually wears off. However, you are left with even smooth color. Even more, the color you are left with is not dry and caky. Don’t you just hate it when lipstick wears off, and your lips look dry and cracky.
In fact, The True Velvet Collection feels hydrating. And that is a first for true matte lipsticks! I’ve never raved about matte lipsticks before.
However, Lisa Eldridge has nailed it! Her formula is amazing. 
Even more, the lipsticks look like velvet on your lips!
