Stila launched two new eyeshadow palettes, “Happy Hour.” and “After Hours.” Both palettes have twelve eyeshadows, neutral shades, with pops of color. In addition, the eyeshadows come in three different finishes. First, 4 have matte finishes. Next, there are 3 shadows that shimmer. Finally, there are 5 glitter shades. The thing I love most in both palettes are the glitter shadows. Furthermore, it was difficult to choose one palette over the other. However, Happy Hour, a cool toned palette with pops of color, is so much more a Spring Palette. And, I would rather have colors that have more of a Summer/Fall vibe. Therefore, I chose the Stila After Hours Eyeshadow palette.

You can find the Stila After Hours Eyeshadow Palette at Sephora, Beautylish, Bloomingdales, Nordstroms, Ulta, and on Stila’s Website. The palette retails for $52.
Stila After Hours Eyeshadow Palette Packaging

First, the outer box is a matte gold shade. Mostly, the written text is in burgundy. Inside , the palette reminds me of my Pat McGrath Palettes.

First, the size of the Stila palette is larger than a regular eyeshadow palette. And, this is the same size as the Pat McGrath Palettes. Also, inside both the Stila and the Pat McGrath, are massive, full-size mirrors. In addition, a metallic gold background shows off the Stila eyeshadow pans . Moreover, the large, sleek plastic compact has beveled edges. And, it has a magnetic closure. So, if you decide to take it with you while on a trip, it won’t open and get all over your suitcase.

However, I think the palette’s size makes it a bit weighty. Moreover, it’s bulky! In other words, it’s too cumbersome to lug around. Therefore, leave it at home, looking pretty on your vanity.
Stila After Hours Eyeshadow Palette Formula

First, the formula for the After Hours Palette is unique. The 12 shades special formula includes the pigments treated with micronized silicone. The formula has three different finishes. First, the mattes are soft and creamy to the touch. However, they are slightly more powdery than you’d expect. Finally, the pigments in the matte shades are intense.
Next, the Glitter Shades have an interesting texture. First, they have a fully pigmented base. Also important, the formula includes silver micro glitter, that is dispersed for a shimmering effect. The down side to the glitter formula is there is a lot of fall out. However, when you use them wet, there is no fall out. Instead, the glitters become even more gorgeous because they look like they are metallic liquids.

Last, the shimmer shades are disappointing. For one thing, they are not that pigmented. As a result, you can use them as eyeshadow toppers. Moreover, one of the shades, pink bubbly, looked like a matte shade to me. And, talk about fallout, this one is all fall out! Although, you can also wear the shimmers wet. When you use the shimmers wet, it will make all the difference in the world! In fact, then, you’ll like them !
Stila After Hours Eyeshadow Palette Shades

There are twelve shades in the After Hours Palette. Five shades have a Glitter Finish. Four shades have a matte finish. And, three shades have a shimmer finish. Moreover, the shades are warm and earth with pops of vibrant colors.
Glitters

First, Toast, a champagne shade, has a glitter finish. Wear toast as a highlighter, on your brow bone, and on the inner corners of your eyes. Also, wear Toast wet all over your eyelids.
Second, Velvet Rope, a shade of garnet, that has a glitter finish. Wear Velvet Rope all over your eyelids, up through your crease. Also, I love it as an eyeliner, to line your lower lash line. Use it on the outer corners of your eyes.
Third, Cash Out, a jade shade, has a glitter finish. This is my favorite glitter shade! It screams summer. I love Cash Out used wet, all over the eyelids, up through your crease. Also, line your eyes with it. Gorgeous!!!
Fourth, Bright Lights, a butter gold shade, has a glitter finish. Bright Lights makes a great base shade, all over your eyelids. Also, wear it wet as a strobing highlighter.
Fifth, After Party, a smoky quartz shade, with a glitter finish. I would love any of the glitter shades on your eyelids. Also, I love after party worn in your crease. or as a liner on your lower lash lines.
Mattes

To start with, Last Round, a nude shade , has a matte finish. first, I would wear the nude shade all over my eyes, as an eyeshadow base. Also, put it in the inner corners of your eyes. And, use it as a highlighter to highlight your brow bone.
Next, All Nighter, a chocolate shade, has a matte finish, I love this chocolate shade used in your crease. And, it defines your eyes when you put it on the outer corners of your eyes. Also, it looks great when you line it on your lower lash lines.
Third, Anything Goes, an Espresso Matte shade, looks amazing when you use it to line your eyes, Also, use it on the outer corners of you lash lids, and on the outer corners of your eyes. And, when you line your crease with it, you are adding definition to your eyes.
Fourth, Tomorrow’s Tale, a reddish brown shade has a matte finish. This is my favorite matte shade in the palette. I love the reddish brown shade used above my crease, Also, it looks great when you line your lower lash lines with it. And, I like it when you smoke it out on the outer corners of your eyes.
Shimmers

First, Sunset Soiree, a burnt shade of orange, has a shimmery finish. this shade has more opaity than some of the other shimmer shades. Therefore, wear it on your eyelids. Also, it looks great in your crease. Best of all, use it as an eye shadow topper, over another shade.
Second, Pink Bubbly, a pink shade with a shimmer finish, is really chalky. In fact, at first I thought Pink bubbly was a chalky matte shade. However, it is a shimmer shade. The best way to wear it is as a base shade, on your eye lids. Also, you can wear it at an eye topper over another shade, Finally, it looks good on your brow bone, and on the inner corners of your eyes.
Last, Bellini, a peach shade, has a shimmering finish. First of all, this shimmering peach shade is more shimmer than color. As a result, it should be worn as a shadow base, or an eye shadow topper. Also, if you prefer an easy summery shimmer, wear it on your eyelids, and let it shimmer.
Stila After Hours Eye Shadow Palette Last but not least……..
GLITTER SHADE APPLICATION

First, the Stila After Hours Palette is gorgeous. It is warm with the most beautiful pops of color. First of all, when you apply the glitter shades, use your fingers as your applicator and press the shadow into the eyes. However, expect some major kick back. As a result, I recommend you try applying the Glitters wet. As a result, you won’t have any kick back, or fall out. And, you will have the most gorgeous, metallic liquid -like shades.
THE STILA AFTER HOURS EYESHADOW PALETTE THE MATTES

Then, ADDITIONALLY, the shimmers can have opacity when applied, such as the Sunset Soiree shade. Although, the other two shades go on sparkly, without the opacity. As a result, you need to wear these shades as shadow toppers.

THE CASH OUT SHADE, JADE IS THE SIXTH UP FROM BOTTOM Finally, I really love this palette. First, I am in love with the warm color story. It is perfect for the summer months ahead. One of my favorite shades, Cash Out, a jade shade with glitter, is my favorite. The reason is, I think of jade, and teal shimmers as being the perfect summer shades. And, they look great with a summer tan, or a summer glow. Also, this palette will take you from summer to fall.
