You’d think it would be easy to find your perfect shade of nude lipstick. However, for a lot of us, it is anything but easy. In fact, most nude lipsticks have a tendency to make me appear washed out. And, I always thought that lipstick was every woman’s Power Accessory! While this may be true, I don’t think that meant nude lipsticks. Nude lipsticks make me look pasty, not powerful! Most important, it is crucial that your shade is not lighter than your skin tone. Therefore, your nude lipstick color should never be as light as your skin shade.
Lipstick Queen has a nude, three piece lipstick collection. Each shade costs $24. Founder, Poppy King, named this nude collection Nothing But The Nudes. Indeed, the name is a play on words, as Poppy substituted the word nudes for truth. According to Poppy, “Just like the truth, there is a variation of the color nude.”

Nude Lipstick Nothing But The Nudes Formula

The Nothing But The Nudes lipstick formula is enriched with hydrating Vitamin E. In addition, Vitamin E is a potent source of antioxidant. Therefore, the skin is protected from free radical damage. Also, the hydrating nutrient ,Pomegranate Extract, is included in the formula because it helps to rejuvenate the skin. Similarly, organic oils and waxes make lips feel soft, and supple. The lipstick feels like a cushion on your lips. Likewise, they make your lips look fuller. The perfect amount of pigment is in each lipstick shade. Moreover, the formula is creamy. It glides on your lips for an easy application. As a result, the lips have a smooth finish. Finally, the hydrating nutrients give the lipstick a vinyl-like, glossy finish.
Nude Lipstick Nothing But The Nudes Lipstick Shades
I purchased two of the shades; The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth. Both of these colors were darker than my skin-tone.
The Truth
The Truth is a pink-based nude. This shade would work best for a lighter skin tone that has pink in it. The next two shades are for medium and darker skin tones.
Nothing But The Truth
Nothing But The Truth is a beige nude shade. It would look great on medium and darker undertones because it has brown undertones in it.
The Whole Truth
The Whole Truth is a peachy-nude shade. It is perfect for warmer complexion because it has peach undertones.
Sum
There are three reasons I wear a nude lipstick. First, nude is still very much on trend. Next, nude is the perfect shade to wear with a “no makeup – makeup look.” Finally, nude is the ultimate shade to balance a dramatic smoky eye. Lipstick Queen’s lipstick formulas are great. The colors have excellent, full pigment. They are not matte, which washes you out, and dries out your lips. They felt comfortable on my lips. Their wear-time was a reasonable 3-5 hours before fading.
