Mac X Robert Lee Morris Makeup Brushes

MakeupTrends

The Limited Edition Mac X Robert Lee Morris Collaboration includes Face Powders, Lipsticks, and Makeup Brushes.  Most important, the Mac X Robert Lee Morris Makeup Brushes come in three configurations.  For this purpose, I am going to break it down individually.  First, the Brush Roll/Robert Lee Morris ($125) contains four makeup brushes.  Next is Brush # 135, The Large Flat Powder Brush/Robert Lee Morris($55).  Third, Brush # 168SES is the Large Angled Contour Brush/Robert Lee Morris.  Significantly,

Mac X Robert Lee Morris Makeup Brushes are a combination of the highest quality brushes. Obviously we expect Mac to bring us top tier brushes.  However, an unexpected transformation occurs to Mac’s brushes when mastermind sculptor/jeweler, Robert Lee Morris, enters the equation.   Robert Lee Morris, who believes that  “fashion is art”.  Therefore, he re-imagined and re-sculpted the look of the brushes.  Furthermore, he changed the aesthetic of the makeup . Thus,  the end result is timeless, yet contemporary art.

Robert Lee Morris has also re-imagined the packaging.  First, he uses gold and black matte boxes that look very organic.  Also, the Logo on the packaging, a bold, black , block print, has an architectural vibe  Interestingly, these two extremes, organic, and architectural, are the inspiration for Robert Lee Morris’ art!

Brush 184SE Duo Fiber Fan Brush

Brush 184SE is the Duo Fibre Fan Brush.  To illustrate, the brush is soft, light and fluffy.  Also it has a flat fan shaped brush for featherweight application.  Furthermore, the brush also is great for product removal.  For example, it removes makeup fallout from underneath the eyes.

Brush 222SE Tapered Blending Brush

Brush 222SE is the Tapered Blending Brush.  Primarily, this brush should be used to create a distinct crease.  Also, the brush can create a V shape on the outer eye area.  Furthermore, use the brush to highlight the inner corners of your eyes.  Interestingly, at some point this brush was discontinued.  Fortunately, it has been brought back to life.  Therefore,  I think it has returned because it is a small, stiff brush.   Indeed this brush is good for applying shadows, highlighter, and  concealers, to small , intricate areas of your face.

Brush 204SE Lash Brush

Most important, a lash brush is a must for every makeup bag because it is so versatile.  First, it can be used to apply mascara.  Next, use it to separate your lashes. Last, use the lash brush to groom your eyebrows.

Brush 229SE Mini Synthetic Brush

First, the mini synthetic brush can be used as a lip brush.  Also, I would use the brush to apply concealer on small areas of the face, such as the creases near your nose, and your inner eye.

Brush 168SES Large Angled Contour Brush/Robert Lee Morris

The Large Angled Contour Brush was specifically designed for cheek contour application.  The brush features fibers that form a buffed edge.  Further, the fibers are soft and bundled firmly.  Therefore, I would use this rush for buffing, and highlighting the shading colors used for contouring.  For this purpose, use the slanted angle design.

The Large Flat Powder Brush has a double chiseled shape.  Use it to dust on powder.  For example, dust powder onto your lips, over your concealer, and in other hard to reach areas of your face.  The brush is soft and smooth.  It is good for dusting loose or pressed powder on the face and body.

Mac-large-flat-powder-brush-robert-lee-morris-designed-matte-black-handleThe Large Flat Powder Brush is very large.  What sets it apart from other face brushes is it has a flat side.  It is a multitasking brush.  Also, it is much easier to use than you would expect.  Most important, it does an amazing job.  Specifically, the shape and dimension of the brush help with diffusing and layering powders so that you still look natural.  Also, use the brush to apply your blush.  Furthermore, use the brush to dust highlighter on the high points of your face.

Four brushes in brush roll

Mac’s professional brushes are hand sculpted and assembled using the finest quality materials.  Robert Lee Morris designed brass handles on the four brushes in the brush roll.  Specifically, the brushes look organic and almost primitive  In my opinion, the brushes could have been used centuries ago.  However, they still have an organically contemporary feel about them.  Mac-makeupbrushes-Robert-Lee-Morris-collaborationMy favorite brushes are the two large ones.  I love their black matte handles.  Also, I love the gold logo imprinted on the handles.  The Angled Contour brush has a cylindrical shaped handle, which looks very cool.  However, my absolute favorite is the Large Flat Powder Brush.  First it looks almost like a paintbrush.  I love the black wrapping under the brush.  It looks almost like a makeshift stick holding the brush together with black tape!  Is that contemporary?  Is it primitive?  Or is it just fantastic?
