What do stars Kate Winslet, Chloe Sevigny, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst, and Patrick Dempsey have in common? Their makeup artist for Red Carpet and Editorials is Jillian Dempsey (yes, she also Patrick Dempsey’s wife). Jillian created a unique product so she could create a modern, polished eye. She invented Lid Tint ($28) in six shades: Lilac, Bronze, Peach, Plum, Smoke, and Dew.

I have always loved the look of a glossy, color-tinted eye. Mac created their glossy eye product, Eye Gloss, that created the effect of a beautiful glossy eye, but I thought it was way too sticky and uncomfortable to wear! I think Jillian hit the nail on the head with her Lid Tint. Her creams may look like cream eye shadows in the conveniently small mirrored compact. But, just dab your finger into the pot and swipe it on your eyelid, and you will love the effect – a subtle, stain-like, glossy eyelid. And it’s not sticky!
The formula is a mix of organic oils and butters that will keep your lids hydrated, and organic cornstarch that gives the glossy formula it’s staying power. It also allows the Lid tint it’s glide-ability!
Wear it alone. Layer it underneath shadow. If you are adventurous, you can layer the Lid Tint over your eye shadow, to take away the flat, or crepe-y appearance that powder shadows can produce. Dip a brush into the tint and blend everything together. It might seem like you are making a mess, but what you are really doing is creating a whole new look – a unique eye that is glowing and dimensional.
