Chanel’s newest eye shadows , Chanel Ombre Premiere Longwear Powder Eyeshadow and Chanel Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow ($36), were designed to go together. Layering is the new global creative makeup and color director, Lucia Pica’s, favorite makeup artistry technique, so it makes sense that Lucia Pica would encourage her Chanel Makeup Fans to practice the technique to “own their eye shadow!” She created the Ombre Premiere collection of new eye shadows so we could be more creative with eye shadow, instead of throwing on any old shade. Now we can custom shades and effects, and get a finish that is ours alone. We can own our eye shadow!!!!!
The Ombre Premiere Collection features soft cream and powder textures. There are 16 powders and 8 creams that encompass bright and bold shades, with matte, metallic, and satin finishes.
The packaging for these single eye shadows has been redesigned , and now they include more product.
I purchased five of the Ombre Premiere Longwear Powder Eye Shadows, in three finishes.
The Ombre Premiere Powder Shadows come with a brush and a sponge for precise application.

The Ombre Premiere Eye Shadows come in three finishes. The metallics are bright metals with strong vibrant shimmer. The satins are soft shimmers with a subtle satin sheen, and the mattes aren’t as richly pigmented as they look in the pan, but they are extremely buildable, and you can achieve the intensity you want. Especially when you layer the matte with a cream shadow underneath.
The new Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Shadows come in eight shades. I purchased three of them. The new cream shadows have a subtle satin finish, whereas their predecessors have a more intense shimmer. The new texture is creamier than the older version, which was more gel-like. The new creams also come with a new applicator.

These eye shadows in the Ombre Premiere collection can be worn on their own, ( all 24 of them!) But, what makes them different from other eye shadows is they were designed to be mixed and matched for you to can create your own shades. They can be smudged for a more intense smokey eye, or they can be swiped on for a subtle sheen. All of the shadows are made to be layered with one another using Lucia Pica’s favorite technique.

The creams can be used as a base, and then can be layered with a powder shade on top. You can also use powder as your base, and layer it with a cream shade on top. And, if you are less adventurous, the creams or powders can also be worn solo. These are gorgeous new shades in a great range of colors. Try the custom look, and make these shadows your own. The custom looks are long-lasting and you’ll have results that are more intense! Own Your Eye Shadow!
On their own they are nice, pretty eye shadows. Layered, they look amazing. Let me know in the comments below what you think of the new Ombre Premiere Eye Shadow Collection from Chanel. And stop by to say hi! And tell me how you layer them!
